I remember a certain enabler sent me some xpec so I thought I would see what the fuss is about.

La Toja Splash

Thought I had added to much water when I first lathered it up, it went very bubbly. Saved it though and had one of the best shaves in a long time.

TUESDAY EVENING

Pre: Hot rinse and Aleppo soap
Cream: XPEC
Brush: Simpsons Tulip 2 Super
Razor: Gillette Aristocrat Jr
Blade: Gillette Swede
Post: Witch hazel, Proraso balm

My first go with the legend that is XPEC and.......................

............it's not bad, not bad at all. I really like the scent and it lathers like a rabid St Bernard. Plenty of cushion and slip too. In the bowl it looks like Henk's Dutch Moss to my eyes.

Houston, I think we have a keeper! Damn shame it's not made any more though.

So a very nice shave tonight.

Pre: Village Barber oil
Cream: Nancy Boy Blossomwood
Brush: Orchid Isles 24mm Silvertip on Curly Koa handle
Razor: EJ DE89 with Templ8 custom handle
Blade: Rainbow (3)
Post: Jovan Musk, followed by Village Barber balm

I forgot how simple this cream is to lather. Very little water needed and BOOM. Very newbie friendly cream. Easy 3-pass BBS.

Cella
NF Tubby 2
Slim Adjustable
Voskhod
Indian Old Spice AS

Cella and a Tubby 2 are one of my favourite lathering combinations, plenty of lovely lather. Slim delivered a fantastic shave as usual.

Wednesday xxvi March, 2014

Pre: Hot shower, Bulldog Face Wash
Prep: Tepid water splash
Brush: Grosvenor Badger & Bristle
Cream: Ingram's
Razor: Gillette Aristocrat 15
Blade: Personna Lab Blue #1
Post: Alum, Simpson's Vitalising ASB
Fragrance: Acqua di Parma Collezione Barbiere Colonia

Result: That's better. So I don't get on with the Gillette Super Silver, at least in the Aristocrat. I'll need to try the blade out in another razor and if I still don't get on with it I'll have to move my stash of NOS Gillettes on to another home.

All the best,

Jon

Deeply unsatisfying. Awful razor, horrible bathroom. Bic 1 Sensitive is definitely my disposable of choice.
