S.O.T.D. Saturday 16th August to Friday 22nd August 2014

TUESDAY MORNING

Pre: Tepid rinse & Noxzema massaged into beard then washed off
Oil: Village Barber shaving oil
Razor: Ikon DLC
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Post: Village Barber balm
EDT: Joop

Will be shaving in the mornings for the next couple of weeks and will not have much time to do this (family down, then a trip back oop North).

This setup gives excellent results, and means a 3 pass shave can be performed in about 8 minutes so I'll be sticking with it for a bit I think.

Weber PH on iKon handle
Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Noxzema (applied between passes)
Wickham Soap Hard Soap
Muhle 21 mm Synthetic
Prof. Blighty's Coal Tar balm

Lovely second shave with the new soap. First time using the Noxzema as a kind of pre-shave and "inter-shave". Applied before each pass, the menthol scent was great but I'm not entirely sure it made a huge difference to the overall shave.

Prep- Tepid water splash
Soap- B&M Adagio
Brush- Men-U
Razor- Merkur Futur
Blade- Merkur Platinum [1]
Post- alum, Myrsol Balsamica

Lovely shave, I forget how efficient the Merkur is. The soap is superb but could not define the smell of this sample.

Been a week since using the Roller Guard head and first time paired with this sharp old blade. Four shaves on this from being in other razors and it's still like new.

Jeeez, this head is one of the most gratifying shaving crap related things I have run across. Not only makes a poor shave into a wonderful one, but it has that slight tickle (which is fine) that feels like I'm using an open comb. Close to being as remarkable as how well the Stahly head fits me. Both were total surprises.

Got this roller thing stuck on my long Weber handle and done deal. Weighs maybe 110g. If the after market head was on a typical Old Type handle it would probably weigh just over half of that. The extra weight adds a lot of pleasure to how that feels in my hand and I'm sure helps the shaving performance.

Really enjoyable shave today and leaving me with BBS results,

Martin
