S.O.T.D. Saturday 13th - Friday 19th July incl.

Monday night

prep : Clinique Soap
Razor : Feather Popular
Blade : Personna Lab Blues
Brush : C&E Super badger
Soap : MWF
Splash : Proraso

Feather/Personna blade made an excellent match together, a really smooth comfortable shave. Still feels nice this morning.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave (sensitive)
Soap: La Toja stick (soap of the week)
Brush: Traditional Shaving Co.
Razor: Gillette Slim Adj (@7,7,6)
Blade: Personna Platinum (2)
After: Alum, Superdrug Forest Fresh AS, Limes Skin Food

La Toja Soap Week Day 2

Lather was much better than yesterday's sorry attempt. This time got more of the soap on my face and spent a little longer face-lathering and was rewarded with enough for three passes.
Adjusted the Slim down to 6 on the last pass but now think I should've left it at 7 which always seems to give good results.
Today's results: DFS but need to do better on the chin.

This morning:

Prep: Thirty second shower and cold rinse
Razor: Kropp 6/8" in marble resin, restored by UKRob
Brush: Neep #1033 soapstone ball and bobbin 24mm high mountain badger
Soap: Nanny's Ice & Slice (soft)

Continuing my experiment in loading half as long, lather-building half as long, and doing just two passes. Another very good and crisply mentholed shave.

Afternoon, all.

Tuesday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ DE89 with iKon Bulldog handle
Blade: Personna Lab (4)
Brush: Wilkinson Sword
Shave cream: Super Max Ultimate
A/S: Superdrug Forest Fresh
Cologne: Pino di Silvestre

A good, close shave without any irritation this time. Smelling nice and green on this hot day.

Kent Bk8 Brush
NSS Grapefruit & Lemongrass

Old Spice Splash
Old Spice Cologne

Result refreshing BSS WTG shave

Bic 1 Sensitive disposable
Semogue SOC boar
Vito's Extra Super Coconut
Proraso Aftershave lotion
Diptyque Tam Dao edt

A particularly rapid shave today - hence using a disposable. It does more than an adequate job.

Tuesday morning

Gillette face wash
Proraso pre
Kent BK2 brush
Arko stick, face lathered
Gillette slim
MEM blade (3)
Alum and witch hazel gel
Gold aftershave

Nice shave not perfect as blade lost edge by the end of this third shave but ok

La Toja stick
Fatboy on 5 with Rapira Swedish Super Shexy
Henk walnut silvertip
Floid the Genuine a/s

Great shave. I'm not sure if it's the Spanish or Italian version so I may just have to buy both when it runs out!

TUESDAY EVENING

Prep: Cold rinse
Soap: Nanny's French Lavender - facelathered
Brush: Simpson Duke 3 butterscotch in best
Razor: 7 o'clock head, UFO Red Kong handle
Blade: Rapira (2)
Post: Witch hazel, Bulldog balm

Face has been feeling a bit sore today. It may well have been the butterfly kisses from the Old type yesterday.

If I could only have one razor for the rest of my life I think it would have to be a long tooth New OC of some description. They just fit me like a glove.

Wednesday:

RazoRock XXX
NF Tubby 2
Aristocrat Junior
Rapira Platinum Lux
Witch Hazel
Barbershop Bay Rum

A good shave. I didn't find the Platinum Lux as smooth as the Rapira Swedish Supersteel or Voskhod I've used recently, I'm enjoying this Russian blade experience though.
