La Toja Soap Week Day 5

Last day of Toja and it's performed admirably all week. This is one of my favourite stick soaps only beaten by Tabac (enough said).
Gillette New still purring like a kitten since using Sputnik blades, I'm going to have to try using Sputniks in all my OC razors. NotTheStig has enabled me into buying a bunch of these Russian rascals.

Results BBS all over, this time made sure I did my chin properly.

Went for a very menthol shave today. Really smooth, but quite raw afterwards, hence the alum.

Warm shower
Hot flannel
Sir Irisch moos cream scuttle lathered
Simpson Emperor 1 super badger brush
Gillette 1920 single ring 'old type'
Sputnik (2)
Cold rinse
Witch hazel
Sir Irisch moos aftershave balsam

A fine shave I like the 'old type' razors this one is from 1920 according to the serial number. It's in fine condition for its age, hardly any wear for its 93 year age. It even came with 6 qty 3 hole blades with a date code 1919 !

SOC 2-band

Proraso ASL

A few nicks and weepers - very unusual! The blade didn't feel comfortable and the lather was too dry. I'm not bothered though. I've finished work for the holidays until September and I'm sat in the garden with a pint of Dark Star, reading a few magazines and listening to TMS. Bubbly chilling and white chocolate and raspberry mousse setting in the fridge while I wait for SWMBO to arrive. Bliss!

Prep: Bulldog Face Wash
Razor: FaTip with UFO Kaiser Short
Blade: Astra SP (1)
Brush: SOC Boar
Soap: D R Harris Almond
Post: Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue Splash

A lovely smooth shave, this setup cut through a one week beard with no problem.

I used a bit of Proraso Pre cream for the first time ever on a small patch on my neck where the hair grows at all crazy angles, i normally get a bit or irritation there, but the Pre seems to have done its job.
