Good morning all.

No shave today, so one from the recent archives:

Gillette Aristocrat Junior
Gillette Super Thin (1)
Muhle Silvertip Fibre
Barbon shaving cream
Lucky Tiger Face Tonic
Floris JF edt

Staying with the outlaws this weekend and, using the family bathroom, I noticed that her brother shaves with a DE. Merkur 34c, Taylor's Sandalwood soap, an EJ brush and a selection of Derbys and Feathers. Good on him!

Musgo Real glyce classic soap
ATT M1 / JEC Handle / Feather
Muhle Silvertip (v2) Fibre 21mm Ebony
Proraso Green Soap (New Formula)
Proraso Green A/S
Tom Ford Italian Cypress

Two hits of Proraso menthol and we're good to go :)

Menthol called for today...

This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: CJB kamisori, Feather Pro blade
Brush: New Forest Tubby 2
Soap: Queen Charlotte Vostok

Missed logging a few shaves last week, most of which were the CJB for one pass with Noxzema cocoa butter. Been quite busy...

Saturday:

Ingram's cream
Tubby 2
#15 Aristocrat
Voskhod
Witch Hazel
Proraso AS
Penhaligons Endymion EdC

A lovely shave. A cool shower followed by a cold water, double menthol shave was exactly what was needed to freshen up. The Voskhod blade has been excellent in the Aristocrat.

MRGLO
iKon OSS
Polsilver SI (2)
Village Barber Oil
Palmolive/Erasmic mix
Vie-Long "Reddit" Badger/Horse Brush
Barbershop Bay Rum

I haven't had an opportunity to post here in a while. Today's shave was top notch. The new Reddit brush feels great - it has a real firmness, but has a smooth and sleek feel to it that seems to give it a really good flow through. I'll have to break it in properly to give a decent opinion though.

Prep: hot flannel
Razor: 34G HD
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock yellow (#4)
Brush: Coates Fitzwilliam
Shave cream: Ingram
A/S: Boots Witch hazel and Tea Tree Oil toner, Superdrug Forest Fresh

Great shave, 4 days growth gone in 3 passes. Lovely menthol hit from the Ingrams and now having a Pimms in the garden with the wife.

SATURDAY MORNING

Prep: Cold rinse
Soap: Klar KKabinett - suribachi lathered
Brush: Coates Fitzwilliam
Razor: Ever Ready 1912
Blade: Gem
Post: Witch hazel, sun cream and Taylors Jerwyn Street EDT

Day 8 on the Vintage Personna draws its usefulness to a close. Not due to dullness, but it is beginning to rust. Great blade from the decade of the 1960s.

The TGN Synthetic in this setup almost matches the performance of the FS Pur-Tech and the Muhle V2 STF. Great Knot with soft tips and good backbone due to its density.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Savile Row badger
'Webly'/Wilkinson Light Brigade (NOS)
Kent SS
Neutrogena oil free moisture
Roger & Gallet L'Homme 'Sport' EdT

Last shave with this excellent old blade. After 6-7 uses it's just now starting to pull a bit. Yeah, they don't make em like they used to.

The Kent post shave skin care is about the best I've found. Almost like getting some kinda treatment as I shave. Nice stuff.

BBS results,

Martin

shavemac #25 silvertip
dr harris almond shaving cream
bleu de chanel AS
andy warhol pour homme edt

very nice, close shave. the andy warhol edt was a blind buy, because it was only a fiver and had some decent write ups on basenotes, and i have to say its pretty good.

Prep: Cold water splash
Soap: MdC
Brush: Shavemac 177 Silvertip
Razor: Polished Weber/Bulldog
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Post: Weleda ASB
EdT: Lalique Hommage a l'Homme

Maybe it's in my head, but I seem to get a closer shave whenever I use Martin de Candre soap, regardless of blade/razor combo.
