Excellent again. Incredible lather from the la Toja. Ended up wasting half of it

Super max cream

Good if not brilliant result. I wonder if the blade will last a third shave?

Monday xv July, 2013

Prep: Shower, Dove Men+Care Sensitive Face Wash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Invisible Edge Custom Black Horn Silvertip
Soap: Sir Irisch Moos Shave Stick
Razor: Leresche
Blade: Made in France Gillette Blue / Polsilver Stainless
Post: Proraso Green Pre/Post; Liz Earle ASB
Fragrance: Tom Ford Noir

Result: That french gillette blue is a bugger. It didn't feel too good during my Bastille Day shave yesterday, but I gave it a second chance, but had to swap it out for a Polsilver after pass #1. Couldn't quite get the same lather response from the Moos as its stable mate Tabac, but will persevere and load my chin for longer tomorrow.
All good in the end though.

Best wishes, gents,

Jon

Morning, everyone.

Monday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ DE89 with iKon Bulldog handle
Blade: Personna lab (3)
Brush: Wilkinson Sword
Shave soap: Palmolive in a tub
A/S: Old Spice Champion
Cologne: Horizon

A good shave with a small amount of irritation which is fading quickly as I write. Could the brush really be too blame? I'll pay extra attention tomorrow morning.

So back from a long weekend with the in laws in the sunshine but had a dodgy blade in the travel kit so this morning back at home with my kit. I went for the following

Prep: Shower
Brush: German Silvertip
Cream: TOBS Sandlewood
Razor: 38C
Blade: Rapira
Post: Pecksniffs ASB
Cologne: Pecksniffs

This 38c is working wonders for me a perfect shave again today. I have to ask the opinion of the more experienced members, Is it the weight, the handle length my improved technique or a combination of all. I'm sat typing this and at the same time thinking shall I buy another and use it as my travel razor? Since I have been using the 38c I just can't fault it any way at all.

Hello everyone,

Not posted in a while but I just came back from my holiday in Spain where I stocked up on splendid La Toja!!!!
Used to be able to get a stick for 1 Euro but it's just over a quid now and it's well worth it.
Shaved off my holiday beard dead easy and makes a great lather with no irritation!

Prep: Hot flannel
Razor: Gillette 7 O'Clock/Muhle R89
Blade: Wilkinson Sword
Soap: La Toja Shave Stick
Brush: Omega 48 Pro Boar
Post Shave: Nivea Anti-Irritation Balm

A great shave!

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave (sensitive)
Soap: La Toja stick (soap of the week)
Brush: Semogue 830
Razor: Gillette Slim Adj (@7)
Blade: Personna Platinum (1)
After: Witch Hazel, Superdrug Forest Fresh AS, Bluebeards Revenge ASB

La Toja Soap Week Day 1

I used this soap all week whilst on holiday, as it's the perfect size for travelling, so this is a revisit week for me.
Usually La Toja creates masses of lather from very little application, but today was on the thin side. I put this down to not much stubble since Sunday's late shave not loading as much soap as usual. Fixed this by loading the brush directly from the stick on the remaining passes.
Results DFS and nicely conditioned skin.

Greetings

Prep: Cold water, Nivea Face Wash, Proraso Pre Green Tea & Oatmeal
Soap: Proraso Green Tea & Oatmeal
Brush: Simpson Commodore X3
Razor: Polished Weber/Bulldog
Blade: Voskhod (3)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
EdT: DR Harris Windsor

Refreshing shave with white Proraso soap and pre. Just enough menthol to do the trick on a hot day.
First time using Myrsol Emulsion post-shave (used only as pre so far) and am pleased with the result. Nice barbershop scent and absorbs very easily into the skin without a hint of tackiness.

Prep face wash L'Occitane vetiver soap

Proraso pre, menthol
Omega 10219, Cella
Weber Polished, Polsilver SI
Cold splash, alum block
Clinique post-shave soother

Truly this was a shave of the gods!
Thought I'd try out the Omega with a soft soap... I'll also try it with creams, as I'm now thinking of training it up as a travel brush (drying times are not an issue for my type of travel). It's probably the best value item I've bought for shaving (but I haven't tried out its big brother yet)
