Pre: Proraso green pre shave cream.
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Sticky.
Blade: 7 O'clock yellow (3).
Brush: Simpson's Chubby 2.
Soap: Proraso Green.
Aftershave: Proraso Green.
Balm: Proraso White.
EdT: Jo Malone Safron.

I have not used Proraso for a wee while and I had forgot how much I enjoy it and the Sticky is a cracking little razor, it is quite mild though. Nice comfortable shave.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage amber Maid Rite #74 badger
Parat/Personna74 (NOS)
Penhaligons Endymion SC
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
No EdT for some reason

Nice little razor that matches up well with this blade. This is what I hoped a superspeed would shave like. Thank you again Paul.

This shaving cream is really good. Pens is noticeably better than most other creams I've tried. Scentwise, this one's not bad, but the BB hits me in a more agreeable way with the same performance.

BBS results,

Martin

Prep: Hot shower, Dove Men+Care Revitalising Face Wash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Coate's FitzWilliam
Cream: Erasmic Old Formulation
Razor: iKon 2pb
Blade: Ladas Super Stainless #1
Post: Kiehl's Blue Herbal Astringent Lotion, Kiehl's Ultimate ASB
Fragrance: Acqua di Parma Collezione Barbiere Colonia

Result: Ladas not quite as smooth as the Personna Hospital Use, but what is? All good. The AdP is running low after sustained use over the spring. Lovely fragrance, fresh, invigorating, with Vetiver notes as the day goes on.

Have a nice day, gents.

Jon

Wednesday

Morning, gents.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ89 with iKon Bulldog handle
Blade: Sputnik (5)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: La Toja in a bowl
Aftershave: Bowling Green
Cologne: Bowling Green

T&H 1805 cream, face lathered
Omega 10098
Muhle R41
BIC Astor (3)
Cold rinse, witch hazel
Old Spice

The Astor is the blade that keeps giving. It's given great shaves all week but in the R41 it blew everything else out of the water. Rarely for R41 I barely felt the blade on my face but it was probably one of the closest shaves I've had.

Razor: EJ DE89L
Blade: Wilkie
Brush: EJ Super Badger
Cream: TOB Sandalwood
Pre & Post prep: Alum block

My first shave with the DE89L this morning. Lovely lather with the Super Badger and TOB cream. Ran 2 passes WTG & XTG and a very smooth first shave indeed. You gents are right, the EJ is very mild, quite gentle which should suit me for the time being while my skin gets used to the transition and allow me to experiement with other blades. Am also down for the Futur pass around so would be good to compare when its my turn...Using NTS's s/sheet as a basis, have put on an order with Connaught for a selection of the top scoring blades; starting with score 18 and up. The WS blade was fine but a tad harsh on my lower neck causing for some redness and feedback from the Alum. Hoping one of the other blades may improve this.

I had such an enjoyable mornings shave...I'm so glad I ventured into this again!
