I'm sick of myself.I set a limit on how much I would spend on a new razor & I've gone over that limit by £140+

I would like mine customised, the worst thing about a gold dollar are the scales.

There's a guy called Kym Mathias.He's most likely a member of this group.Anyway he specialises in GD customs & does a very nice Job of them.He runs a group on facebook called straight razor uk.He also has another facebook page KM designs.Many pictures of his custom GD work.Fair play to the guy for standing behind the name of a razor that is notoriously slated by many.I used to be on there but don't bother with facebook now.Check it.

Good for you pal.I don't smoke,I hate it but I like a drink.I don't overdo it though.I don't gamble,don't drive,don't buy all the mod cons but my weakness is a nice razor

Ive just got myself a Poseidon razor,looks kind of cool with the Trident stamped through the blade and the ebony scales, and also got some lapping film to have play at honing,will have a try in a few weeks,if i bugger it up it's no big loss

Well I got my Osgar and Horween Paddle Strop from Peter today and the razor and strop are gorgeous. I am going to wait until I have a few days growth before I try it though. Only thing I am worried about with a straight is smoothness. I know super sharp does not always mean smooth and I hope it is not like a Feather DE blade: I hate those things.

In my honing I have reached sharp but finding the perfect match between sharp and smooth will take a lot more practice trial and error style.

Just start shaving with it.Forget other types of razors & just focus on it.Once you get the hang of it you might not bother with anything else.
