Beer..a personal list of favourites

Liverpool Beer Festival starts this Thursday to Saturday in the catholic Cathedral Crypt. Sold out mind.

Was working yesterday and today on the setup, most of the beer is in place and ready to be tapped.

Liverpool Organic are the sponsors this year.

Working Weds Evening (trade session) Thursday Evening and all day Saturday and take down on sunday. Get paid in free beer...

Ruddles still exists? Must be brewed in Bury by Greene King then.

Had George Wright Lion Returns in my local last night (The Lion - named after the train engine) and also Cairngorm Trade Winds.

Ooo what a subject!

There are many that have been posted that I enjoy. My favourites would have to be:

Kronenbourg 1664 (my daily)
Hobgoblin
Jennings Snecklifter
Erdinger
Leffe Blonde
Duvel
Innis and Gunn (think it was the whisky aged but recently tried the rum aged and that was good too)
T.T Landlord
Fullers ESB is an absolute favourite
York Brewery Guzzler (glad someone mentioned it)

Can't think of anymore!

Regarding Adnams - a family member works there but I never liked any of them apart from Broadside which was decent, but the rest all have a strange taste to me - must be Marmite beer!

Cheers all and whatever you drink - enjoy!
:)

By no means exhaustive, but I would go for:

  • JW Lees Bitter
  • Tim Taylor's Landlord
  • Thwaites Wainwright
  • Dorothy Goodbody's Wholesome Stout (Wye Valley Brewery)
  • Hogs Back Brewery TEA
  • Westmalle Dubbel (a few of us once emptied a Belgian pub of this)
  • Jennings Cumberland Ale

However, my father in law is fond of the saying, "There's no such thing as bad beer, just some's better than others" and I am broadly in agreement!

In the past 10 days or so these gems have been supped:

York Guzzler and Decade
Moorehouse Pride of Pendle

Yesterday it was Oakhams Citra and Inferno

Tasty!
