Beer..a personal list of favourites

I bought a cask conditioned box of London Pride (delicious btw) for a party directly from Fullers once. I think it contained something like 22 pints but there was a particular name for this size of box, any clues?

Oh, and I almost forgot about John's homebrew. He lives next-door-but-one, and it's his personal mission to never let me leave his house in a straight line.

It's too easy, as it's VERY drinkable.

Damn it - I forgot all about St Sixtus Abbey in Westvleteren... they make some ales-and-a-half there too :hungrig

Hi there,

Westvleteren........now that rings a bell from a while back. Don't they make some numbered versions? I seem to recall #26 maybe? Nuts......was it something with a yellow label maybe? Whatever it was, the stuff was pretty tasty.

Off the top of my head

Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby MIld
Badger Golden Glory
A.B.C Aston MIld
York Guzzler
Black Sheep Riggwelter

Lots that I can put in the list, and new ones that turn up and hit the spot. For example was at beer festival last week and had some beers such as Spectrum- Black Buffle which were superb. But those ones I've put in my list are the ones that stand out immediately.

If you come across it, you have just got to try Old Thumper. At 5.6, a pint's enough.

I was going to mention the Trappist beers, but decided to keep my mouth shut.

Of historical interest only: there was a time when draught Bass was sublime stuff, I remember that distinctly. Must have been in 1980-something though.
