Pre Alep soap+ Veleiro shaving cream + Simpson Duke3 Best + Merkur Slant with Laser Ultra + Thayers Lavender "alum" + Veleiro lotion with The Real Shaving balm

A good shave but I had irritation in my neck... too many passes without foam :dodgy:

Cheers!

Thursday

Razor: 39C
Blade: Lord Super stainless
Brush: 57
Soap: MdC
Post: Tobs bay rum splash
Scuttle: woodhead size 1

Not been feeling the best the past few days so a bit of growth to get rid of. The slant made light work of it and these lord blades are quite nice in the razor too.

MdC is brilliant in how easy it is to lather. My sample was around 50p in size and I think I've got around 1 shave left. That would be around 5 in total so it's quite economical.

It was also the first outing of my new scuttle. I'm glad I went with size 1. It's the perfect size to use as a brush scuttle. Kept my brush nice and toasty. I tried a size 3 but it was just way too big and a started to miss face lathering so a size 1 gives me the best of both worlds.

Overall, BBS :)

Thursday

37C with Wilkinson Sword (2)
Vulfix 404 bristle-badger
Palmolive stick as puck
Ogallala bay rum (lime and peppercorn)
Bulldog moisturiser

37C loan and bay rum sample courtesy of Canuck. First time with this very nice razor - smooth as a knife through butter WTG, perfectly comfy XTG, a little tuggy XTG-ATG - ended up with 2 or 3 small weepers in the under chin area, should sort that out as I get more familiar with the razor though. Think I subconsciously backed off the pressure so much that I missed the odd bit, particularly as I forgot to pull a bullfrog face for my neck touch up. Looking forward to pairing this razor with some of the sharper blades also kindly PIF'd by Canuck. Years since I've used an AS splash, I like this bay rum.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

old Marshall Fields two band
'Webly'/Wilkinson Sword Edge (NOS)
TSD coconut SS
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Malizia 'Vetyver' EdT

One of those squeaky clean kinda shaves. Yeah, this old blade is excellent......just bought 20 more recently.

BBS results,

Martin

Red Tip Super Speed with BiC Chrome Platinum
Tobs Lavender cream
Marks and Spencers Harvard aftershave balm

Had one or two of these blades for a while then saw 100 cheap so they're in the post. Nice sharp blade; couple of nicks in fact with the Red Tip. Nice close shave

Razor, Gillette New
Blade, Gillette 7o'clock yellow
Brush, Vulfix 404 badger/boar
Cream, DR Harris Arlington

Another great shave with this combo but I just cannot decide about this cream. I am half-way through a pot but still cannot make my mind up if I like the scent or not.

I really like this razor, it has a nice flex to it (especially for being a Sheffield razor) and shaves me very well :D
