This evening:

Prep: Hot shower
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (8)
Brush: Neep #1033 soapstone 24mm high mountain badger
Cream: Trumper's Sandalwood
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Yellow Ginger
Result: pretty darned good

As with so many of my rare cream-not-soap days, I find myself wondering why they're rare. Lovely effortless lather.

There's a place just to the right of my jaw I keep giving myself tiny nicks. Can't get it right this week. I shall.

L'Occitane CADE soap + Vie&Long 16910 "two bands edition" + Merkur Futur with Personna Prep #1 + Myrsol Agua Balsámica with L'Occitane CADE balm

An excellent shave, although with these soap and razor it's difficult to fail, hehe

Cheers!

Proraso Red
Art Of Shaving Super Badger
Filarmonica SubCero 12
Nivea Sensitive ASB
Nivea Rehydrating Moisturiser

A 2 day growth to put the SubCero through it's paces, also a good workout for the Proraso Red (for tough beards)

I am very impressed by the Proraso Red, applied the lather waited a minute re lathered and went to work.
The SubCero 12 is a nimble razor that eats big whiskers, the pair together spurred me onto a 3 pass shave with a BBS result.
No burn, very comfortable.

Blighty's Universal shave balm - if you haven't tried this I would say it is possibly the best thing I have ever put on my skin! Give it a go...

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Great shave using one of my favorite old blades.

A day of experiments (not groundbreaking ones though!)

Proraso pre shave
Neal's Yard Lavender Shaving Soap / Shaving Shack Bristle Travel Brush
Super Adjustable set to to 6 with Perma sharp blade
Alum
Speick Aftershave
L'Oreal Balm

I have decided to have a go at using up my neal's yard soap whilst breaking in the travel brush I picked up on BST a while ago. Had to swirl the brush a few times in between re-latherings but it did well enough. I think it will be a perfectly acceptable travel brush in the end.

Also decided to have a go with a more aggressive setting on the adjustable. Had mixed results - overall, a nice shave. Neck was great - two downward passes and a touch up XTG under the chin. Good enough to go with this every day (have previously gone with two downward, one upward and a few random touch ups so great improvement.) On the face, it was closer WTG / XTG but not close enough. I left it set to 6 for the ATG and nicked myself - should have dialled it down.

Cheers
Stu

Easter Monday:

Cream: Bluebeards Revenge (Sample)
Brush: New Forest Tubby 1 Super
Razor: Feather AS D1
Blade: Feather
Post: Cade ASB

Not impressed with Bluebeards Revenge, lathered up to a thick creamy texture, wasn't slippery and very little cushion. Leathered again with TOBS Mr Taylor and there was no comparison!

Easter Monday

Prep: Hot Towels
Cream: T&H West Indian Limes
Brush: Neep Extra Silvertip
Bowl: Steve Woodhead Ceramics
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable (5)
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge
Balm: T&H West Indian Limes
Cologne: T&H West Indian Limes

I'm really starting to like this razor and blade combination, it seems to be working very well for me at the moment. My neck is much smoother than it was when I was using Feathers.

A good relaxing shave today which was much needed after a few very stressful days. :) :)
