Think the derby was a shave too far, bit of redness but not over the top....

Ikon OSS
Permasharp (1)
Neep Soapstone
Figaro crema di barba
Woodhead scuttle
Witch hazel
Trumper lime skin food

After the crappo Wilkie back to normal with one of the Gillette family.

The Neep massacred the Figaro. Loads of lather and a very nice shave.

Am thinking of starting an OSS fan club with Dipesh!

Thursday

Merkur Progress
Gillette Platinum Blade (Swede)
New Forest 2201 Brush
Vitos Super Coconut Soap
L'Occitane Cade ASB

I'm getting to be a really big fan of these soft soaps. Cella and Vitos are both excellent for me.

Ian

Enjoying the Progress then Ian?

Penhaligons Opus 1870 shower gel
NF2201
Penhaligons Opus 1870 shaving cream
Rocket HD with a Gillette yellow
Penhaligons Opus 1870 aftershave balm
Penhaligons Opus 1870 EDT

This evening:

Prep: Hot shower
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (3)
Soap: Palmolive stick
Brush: Neep #55 soapstone badger

An excellent shave, with a condensed protocol and a bit less fiddling around. Done in fifteen minutes without rushing at all. Very clean, close and comfortable.

L'Oreal face scrub
Erasmic Chamomile shaving cream
Omega Syntex 90065 shaving brush
Gillette 365 blade
Chatsworth Barley razor
Real Shaving Co. balm.

After 7 years with bits of beard, I took the plunge and went clean shaven. Someone said it took years off me. And when I look around when out and about I notice just how many men look shabby. Is it cartridge prices? Fashion? Irritation?

At this stage I'm looking at shave direction with each pass. Three passes: WTG, XTG(L,R), XTG(R,L) anywhere above the jawline; neck area WTG XTG.

It would be a shame not to use a DE razor to its fullest capacity, and shaving for me has moved up a gear. My set up may not be the 'best', but later this year I will look into ordering more creams, instead of using just high street brands. Next week I'll use the Merkur 25C.

Friday:

Truefitt and Hill 1805 cream
Edwin Jagger Black badger
Merkur 34C HD
Gillette 7 o'clock yellow (4)
T+H 1805 cologne

Not bad. I've gone against type and pushed a blade to 4 shaves, felt alright but not the "getting one over the man" ecstasy that I hear saving a few pence can bring. A clean, sharp feeling is very much worth 15p to me.
Blade change (and razor change) for the weekend, onto the slant and a fresh 7 for Saturday afternoon.

Friday

Hot shower
Proraso pre/post
Vitos coconut - face lathered
Muhle R89
Personna Platinum (2)
Witch Hazel
RSC aftershave balm
Pinaud Clubman

3 pass - WTG, XTG x2

Smooth, comfortable and damn near BBS, a couple of patches under my jawline continue to resist.

Friday:
Gillette Fusion ProGlide
Proraso Pre / Post
Proraso foam (green can)
Alcolado Glacial lotion
Proraso Pre / Post

Now THAT's cold.
