A series of shaves themed, 'Fanfares, train fares and bus fares'

I am back from the dead. The darkened World of the scruffy faced bastards. Well, not quite as I have been offshore for a few days and out of touch with the world. Great. And not say I didn't shave either. So you can have a terrific value three for one SOTD.

The first shave I made on Saturday morning at 0030 and I really thought I was going to beat Mr Mild Green Fairy Liquid Fox to the first entry, but shit, I got a join earlier call. Bollocks. The best laid plans of mice and men where the mice usually have the better plans. Anyway, onwards I go in to the murky world of SOTD's.

'Mummy, why are your hands so soft?'
'Because I'm only 15'

Saturday the something of May and the theme, 'fanfare'

Fanning - Tatara Nodachi
Faring - Polsilver Lodz
Electric fans - Zenith dark synthetic
Fairy fans - Signature Soaps Condate
Fairy fannies - M&S Spiced Amber
'That's Palmolive products for you. Crap'

It must have been a good shave as I can't recall swearing at the mirror. All terrific products and I must say the Condate is creeping up my soapy ranks. A possible Londinium beater? Perhaps not, but getting there.

A happy Saturday morning. Until some git called me. Another day Barry, another day.

Monday another day in May and a shave with theme, 'Train Fares'

Return fare - Tatara Nodachi
Two adult singles - Polsilver Lodz
Season ticket - PAA Pelegrino
First class - ADP Collezione Barbierre
How fucking much? - Floris Elite

'And the crowds caught the next train to getaway from this SOTD'

I guess I must be rather like this Tatara and the blade if I recall is on a fifth outing which is quite an achievement with a Lodz. Yes they are sharp, yes they are superbly smooth but not the best when it comes to longevity. So overall something is working. ADP? Absolutely wonderful and somewhat chuffed to have a jar still on the go.

It must have been quite a stunning shave as this evening really was nothing more than a buff.... Read on if you really can be bothered....

But before any further reading please feel tempted by some Japanese ladies...

And finally this evening's shave themed, 'Bus Fares'

After last night's wonderfully close shave not that much to shift really and so a general buff up while generally in the buff. But a lovely bit of me time and a great end to quite a lovely day.

Londinium vs Condate? Sorry Condate, step aside for the God of Soaps.

And step aside for those Beavers...

Cheers Chris! Best Regards from The God of Soapmaking

SotD-16/05/23.

Wolfman WR1 shave this morning.
Wasn't too sure about this razor tbh.
Loads of blade feel but not a massive amount of efficiency did make my face feel tender & a little sore on previous shaves.

However I discovered that making the angle slightly steeper transformed the shave. What a difference.

Glass smooth today with no irritation at all, superb .

Pre: - Hot Shower & Steamed Towel
Post: - Sterling Orange Chill Balm
Razor: - Wolfman WR-1/WRH-7 (0.94)
Blade: - Gillette London Bridge (New)
Brush: - Ian Burtney Custom Marl Burl SHD (30mm)

Happy Shaves To All .

Ooh! i really like this brush thanks again to Iain @Digimonkey and his PIF, it fits great in the hand and the knot is like a mini version of the RR400 Plissoft. Today it whipped up more than enough for 4 passes from very little in the Captains choice Bowl. As much as i like the RR HD handle i do prefer the Alpha over this one also.
A nice 3 pass shave finishing with a face wash with the excess lather and a cold water rinse.
The GB Bowling green is just right for this bright morning.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

A sixth and final shave with the Personna med prep, which was still reasonably sharp, but the overall shave was just not as close as previously. Blade to blade bank. Nevertheless an excellent performance from the med prep in the Henson. Five close and comfortable shaves, easily.

Pre - Palmolive Sea Minerals
Soap - Palmolive Classic Cream
Brush - Yaqi Sagrada Tuxedo
No 1 Razor/Blade - Yaqi Katana/Lord Classic Stainless
No 2 Razor/Blade - Gillette Rocket/Bic Chrome Platinum
Post - Effect Cucumber
AS - Wars Sensitive

I've not posted here for a while, I think about 2 weeks? Partly down to a combination of not having the enthusiasm to shave and having a few knee pains. A trip to the GP stated my knee pains it was something to do with my kneecaps (I can't remember the right terms) but a week or so of doing the physio I was told to do has reduced some of the pain. Added to that my face was itchy as anything! So it was time to get the razors out and have a shave!
The Yaqi Katana is a razor I'm largely terrified off as it's on the more efficient side of things than I usually like, usually I can't muster more than one pass with this razor but it took 2 passes to hack off most of the growth. Another pass to clear the small scragglers with the Gillette Rocket, which felt like shaving my face with a butterknife in comparison to the Yaqi Katana!
I finished the shave with a few splashes of Wars Sensitive. Feels great to have a nice smooth face again!

Have a good day gents.
