Soap - MWF (new formulation)
Brush - DSCosmetic 26mm T4 synthetic
Razor - Muhle R89 Twist
Blade - Gillette 7o’clock Sharp Edge yellow (3)
Post - lather remains face wash, cold rinse, alum block
Splash - Sierran Breeze ASL
Balm - Nivea Replenishing ASB
Fragrance - CK In2u for men EDT

Refreshment - glass of Craganmore malt whisky (the last of that bottle unfortunately, but other bottles are available) with dry ginger ale.

Fantastic first shave with my new razor, the blade was nice, the fat was fulsome to say the least (the bigger brush making an overflowing bowl of thick lather) and 2 passes removed all traces of stubble and left my face smooth and feeling moisturised. And the CK scent I find really good and seems very long lasting.


Would you like to give me an extra belly rub for your birthday, nice old bloke with the opposable thumbs and tin of dog food? It’s supposed to be lucky.

Well, me actually, considering the amount of extra snacks I got yesterday, I think I’m on a lucky streak, so want it to carry on!

Are those blades from the clearance sale?

Yes, the La Barbiera clearance. £4 for 100! I actually bought two lots of these and the Rainbow.
The Rainbow are fine for two shaves and produce an acceptable result; these are much smoother and already had three good shaves.
In my opinion.

Bowl Captains choice Obsidian Copper.
Brush Highlander LE2023 Boar.
Soap GFT Spanish Leather.
Razors Muhle Rocca & Raz=r
Blade Ninja
Aftershave GFT Spanish Leather cologne.

I realised after taking the photo that I forgot the Bowl and brush, Doh!
No Fat shave today as I really fancied going full on Spanish Leather with my newly acquired edt from the BST.
A cracking shave all in all and I smell amazingly as per the norm with a lovely hum of Spanish Leather mmmmmmm lip smacking good.

Monday 19 February
I have been a bit slow posting this week, too much going on. Poor excuse I know but the best I can think of right now.
Anyway, I just bought a Hone 15 brass, I’ve been on the lookout for one for some time as they don’t appear to be made any more. I’ve been using it for 3 days now and a really enjoying it. Whilst it’s pretty heavy, some 165 grams, it is still quite a nimble beast. The balance point is quite close to the head and allows easy setting of head angle for best results. Like with a lot of razors some blades work better than others. I was recommended Feather and Astra, have used both and am happy with the results. Generally bbs after wtg, atg and pick ups.
Keeping the Dutch theme the Scheermonnik also came to the party with Ever Ready synthetic re knot.

Lovely shave. I scented my sink water with a capful of the Orange Blossom Water and the bathroom was just smelling lovely. Results were an easy BBS.

Fresh Kai Captain Titan Mild Pink in the RR Hawk V3A.
Officina Artigiana, on its last knockings now but it's been great. Tabac EdC and bio oil mingled in the palm and applied as one, for great aftercare with reduced sting and longer lasting scent. Of course the forum special Highlander LE.

Has the edt got staying power?

I would say not much, I wish they did it in a Parfum.
I would say I stop smelling it myself after around 4 hours but others might still be able too, who knows.
My Rogue illuminee edt lasts an easy 24 hours to my nose, the best lasting scent in my collection atm.

Three consecutive shaves with this razor/blade combo and it works quite well.
It's more aggressive than a Hawk V3 with the same Blade. But, re-growth is apparent sooner.
I still think it shaves identically to a Vector - as usual, YMMV . . .

Lovely using the older formulation LEA under the VieLong brand. Lovely, too, to drop a fresh Classic into the Rocca. I said it before, "Gosh! Carbon really suits my face!".
