MONDAY EVENING

Aristocrat #16
Voskhod (2)
Semogue Il Rasoio LE brush
Nannys Nutmeg Spice hard soap
Witch hazel
Castle Forbes AS balm

Once more a couple of weepers (around the mouth) but a very close shave.

Like others on here, I'm finding these Russian blades are damn good.

TUESDAY MORNING

Prep, Hot shower
Brush, Neep 28mm Extra Silvertip
Cream, TOBS Jermyn Street
Razor, iKon New Standard Head w Bulldog 2
Blade, Gillette Super Stainless
A/S, TOBS Jermyn Street
Cologne, TOBS Jermyn Street

First use of this razor having received this base plate yesterday. Having tried a lot of iKons and found them all too mild, the only one I like is the Deluxe Open Comb. I have heard the New Standard Head is even more aggresive.
WOW, it's an animal, this is one very aggresive razor. I would have to put this on a par with the R41. I wasn't expecting that. The result was an exceptionally close 2 pass shave, almost BBS. My face couldn't take an ATG pass.

T&H Ultimate Comfort cream
Edwin Jagger boar
Merkur 37c
Wilkinson Sword Sticky
Vintage English Wilkinson Sword (3rd shave)
Professor Blighty Universal Shaving Balsam - Tuxedo

37c was good for removing the majority of the stubble but starts to feel raw before I can do touch ups. The Sticky finished off.
A little raw but good result.

Tuesday:

Cella
Semogue 2012 SE
Muhle R89/Weber Bulldog
Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge
Witch Hazel
Pinaud Vanilla
Nivea Cool Kick ASB
DR Harris Windsor EdT

Nice shave, BBS results.

Greetings

Tuesday 26th February 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: Ever Ready 1914 Little Lather Catcher
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Semogue 620 Boar
Soap: Wilkinson Sword Stick grated into a container
Aftershave: Adidas Balm

A really good shave, the Adidas Balm works well enough, but has a 70's washroom smell, the scent is however, so transient that it has completely gone by the time you are dressed!

Regards
Dick

Proraso pre/post
Tabac soap stick
Muhle synthetic
Feather SS w/ProGuard, finished with 37c
Myrsol Lemon
Rene Kern ASB

Good BBS shave, although still managed to slightly nick myself on the neck. You don't haste with Feather.

Pre hot towel + Proraso sandal red soap + Semogue 1335 + Gillette Super Adjustable with Croma + Mennen Skin Bracer splash with GFT Skinfood Sandalwood

A good shave gentlemen, very clean!

It's curious that this Proraso soap is less "latherable" than its brothers or any "hard cream" italian soap I have tried. Anyway, it has a good scent.

Cheers!

Many, many years have passed since last time I used a Contour. I now need a cartridge razor for travelling and I decided to use one as classic as possible like this metallic Contour handle.
I'm going to compare all the Contour compatible cartridges to decide which one will shave me better with this handle, so I started with the most common: Gillette. Later I'll test Wilkinson and Feather ones.

This first shave was not bad, but lubricating strip is a mess...

I use a Contour regularly when travelling or in a hurry. I've got one of the old metal handles - it has a bit of weight, which I like.

I've found the Gillette Slalom carts work best for me. Russian-made, no lube strip. I find them smoother than the old Wilkinson Profile carts (which are also very good).

Thanks for your advice, mate, I'll take a look to them!

Cheers!
