Had such a great shave yesterday using this same combination that I thought "why change things up?" Wonder if the Super Iridium blade should take most of the credit. That's one hell of a smooth blade!

Hopefully that should help, I did notice that the heat retained in the bowl helps to melt the soap, how helpful that is I don't know but it could be another thing to add into the mix.

Blade: Gillette Super Stainless
Balm: Barbershop Bay Rum

Excellent shave, it took me a while to get a decent lather with this brush, it has no backbone at all when it is wet, it's only really useful for creams.
