SOTD SAT 16 June to 23 June ...

Morning!!
Well afternoon but I had my shave in the morning. Anyhoo

I found a little sample tub (no not that sort of sample, about which though I do have a funny story.)
of Macca Root. It was yellow and a little hard.
Regular Macca (everyone's favourite Beatle) Root Is in my top 3 of soaps.
So I got this hard little sample and mushed it in my left palm with a drop of water and lathered.
I had great creamy not too dense lather. so cushioning in fact that after the first pass I had to check I had shaved!!!
Perfect.

A very smooth shave, am impressed with Henk's shaving products, soap is slick & the ASB very soothing.

Much, much better shave with this today. Not quite BBS but not far from it, and not one cut.

I'd like to compare this with the Pils, though won't buy one to try it out! The Ikon is very 'angle sensitive', I find it has to be at a much higher angle than almost anything else I have.

I'm going to use it all this week and give it a really good run out.

Today's Shave went down a smooth as butter!

Twice in one day.

So I shaved this morning, but that was about 12 hours ago, and we are going out in a bit. The postman also arrived and delivered a nice shiny Merkur 37c Slant which just needed trying out.

Cream: TOBS Jermyn Street
Brush: Neep #1134 26mm Extra Silvertip in Kingfisher Burl
Razor: Merkur 37c
Blade: Gillette 7'oclock SharpEdge (yellow)
A/S: TOBS Jermyn Street

Wow, what a smooth razor, it looks really strange and twisted, more so than in the photo so I was a bit apprehensive. I just did a 2 pass shave, it was all I needed, it was a very close and comfortable shave. BBS :) This will definitely be getting regular use.

a close shave, but not a particularly comfortable one. i was using products that i use when i want a nice shave, but it just didnt feel good, not disastrous, just a bit... meh.

Saturday. Rehoned the Imperial last night. Wasn't happy with it's 1st outing. Kept everything the same, as I wrote before.
As the razor is unhappy with my honeing or shaving technique we'll see how it likes cutting soap and tape for awhile.
Shave not worth writing about.

Cold water
Proraso pre/post
GFT 2-band brush
Trumper's GFT cream, face-lathered with my oil blend (added argan as well now)
Weber ARC with Feather (4)
Steve's Bay Rum
Institut Karite aftershave

Why is it that with some creams you just can't get an adequate BBS..

Two pass shave with minor clean up very smooth, a very enjoyable shave allround.

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap, cold
Razor: Joseph Rodgers "The Favorite", restored by Jamie
Brush: Neep #955 soapstone ball and bobbin silvertip
Soap: Klar Kabinett
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Red Ginger

Bit of a struggle, this - all a bit grabby and catchy and skippy. Probably no more so than last week when I was using it daily, but the Feather and the Kropp have spoiled me. Still, I'm comfortable, and after three face, four upper neck and five lower neck passes I'm presentable. And there's the sense of achievement.

BBS, tried some skin stretching this morning and had two small nicks. Not as much lather as I should have done so could have been a bit more cushioned.

Sunday:

Razor: ikon handle & 7 o'clock head (cheers Andy!)
Blade: Elios
Brush: Duke 2 Super 3 band - imitation ivory
Soap: Nannys soapy
Post: Nivea

Result, wicked :)
