SOTD Sat. 13th April to Fri. 19th April 2013

This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Dovo 5/8" "best quality"
Brush: Neep #1033 soapstone ball and bobbin 24mm high mountain badger
Cream: Body Shop Maca Root
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Rosewood

Feels strange to be shaving every day again!

Tuesday xvi April 2013

Prep: Shower, Arran Aromatics Lavender & Tea Tree Facial Wash
Pre: Proraso White
Brush: 404 Grosvenor "Bodger"
Cream: Miller Harris Feuille de Tabac
Razor: Merkur 46C Travel
Blade: Polsilver Super Stainless
Astringent: Thayers Medicated Super WH
Post: Zirh Post Shave Lotion
Fragrance: Acqua di Parma Collezione Barbiere

Results: Superb shave, really managed to whip up the Feuille de Tabac into thick, unctuous, rich cushioning lather. The excellence of the shaving experience was though more than counterbalanced by my sadness and anger of the news from Boston, a city I have a great affection for. Awful scenes, with, seemingly, a significant number of horrific injuries alongside some deaths too. How can people hate so much to inflict atrocities like this?

Good shave, sad, sad day.

Jon

First go with an Old Type - Bit fiddly aligning the blade and I'm not sure if I wasn't trying to correct a trick of the light....
Got the angle from a test on my forearm and had a very nice shave close and comfortable.

Not used this make of blade very much and it made a half decent job.

Hot face splash then,

Edwin Jagger DE89 Barley
Voskhod
MWF F.L.
Vulfix Pure Badger
Alum

2 days' growth eradicated in a fairly comfortable shave. Didn't find the blade over-sharp or over-smooth but someway betwixt; BBS all the same. Will see how this blade fares over next couple of shaves and compare with some other blades I have yet to form opinion of in this razor.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Polo 14
Razors: GEM for head + Joseph Rodgers and sons, big ass blade (cheers for letting me try it Mr Magnus!)
Soap: Dr Harris + Proraso

Lovely shave and fantastic Rodgers razor :D

... and some fresh:

Today's 6am shave before early shift

Ingrams bowl lathered (in trusty balti dish)
Duke 3 Best Badger
Merkur head, Weber Bulldog handle
Russian Perma sharp (2)
