SOTD: Sat 10/11/12 to Fri 16/11/11

Prep: Nivea Face Wash
Razor: Weber Bulldog DLC
Blade: Gillette Rubie #1
Brush: Neep #1283
Soap: MWF
After: Proraso Post Cream
AfterAfter: Witch Hazel
AfterAfterAfter: Proraso AS Lotion

First try with this blade, seemed ok, no better than my normal 7 O'Clock 's (RusGreen/Yellow/Black) though.

Second trial with the lending pool R41. After a really good first effort, today couldn't have been a bigger contrast!

Proraso pre-shave
T&H trafalgar cream
R41 / Rapira pink and blue
Marlborough aftershave
Boots no. 7 balm

Sadly I managed to completely muck up the blade angle and what was agressive but effective yesterday was scratchy and rough today. I ended up giving up half way through and finishing off with an EJ89.

The aftershave splash stung like billy-o!

So, two shaves in and it's one-all!

Saturday

Saturday:

Prep: Hot shower, then hot face cloth
Cream: TOOBS sandlewood
Brush: EJ Best Badger
Razor: EJ DE89L
Blade: Astra green
Post: Nivea sensitive balm

Result: Was a bit rushed due to the Mrs deciding we were off to watch skyfall with very little notice, but closer, smoother and less irritation than the previous Derby blade. Was afraid of moving off the Derby as was only my 3rd DE shave and technique still far from perfect, but much better result, no cuts or nicks, very happy.

Geo F. Trumper Skinfood Sandalwood + AoS Sandalwood + Kent BK8 Silvertip + UFO U2 Long with Merkur head and Astra blue #4 + Italian Floid Blue splash

Here there's now a cold weather, so I prefered a calming, warm and aromatic shave with this wonderful shaving cream, my big and soft brush and a no less big scuttle I have for this kind of shaves, hehe

Cheers!

Taylors sandlewood shaving cream
Kent BK4 brush
Feather blade
Geo.F.Trumper sandlewood skin Food to finish

Its been stuck inside that packet for about some 34 ish years and it shaved perfectly.
But when compared to older members of the Gillett super Speed family from the 1950's its completely mild  maybe mens beards had gone all week and feeble from the 70s-80s... go figure.
