Thursday Evening:

  • - Le Tuft, by beejay, bespoke Urban Hermit's Resyke shave set
    - Lord's Rainbow super stainless blade
    - La Toja Manantiales hard shave soap
    - Thayer's Peach witch hazel
    - La Toja Manantiales ASL
    - La Toja Manantiales ASB

Possibly a practically pretty-perfect performance - properly peachy!

  • & that's a plum of a produce punnet*.
      • ... punnet* = pun + innit; innit!

Friday:

Pre: shower
Razor: ERN straight
Soap: proraso (face lather)
Brush: Sem 1305
Post: Nivea moisturiser
Post Post: OL bay rum with sandalwood.

First attempt at a weekday am straight shave. Decent results and would have left home on time if I hadn't misplaced my front door keys.

I don't want to tempt fate but after a few months of weekend straight shaving I am beginning to think I am getting somewhere now. Which is bad, there is now justification for buying more straights.

Friday

Trumper Razor
Gillette Platinum "Swede" Blade
New Forest 2201 Brush
L'Occitane Cade Shaving Soap
Clinique Post Shave Soother

I was rooting around in my soap draw last night, and rediscovered my cake of Cade soap. One sniff and I was convinced that I needed it back on duty. It didn't disappoint.

My cold has now fully arrived. It's not flu, it's not man-flu, it's just a cold.

Friday

Gillette Ball End Tech, English
Red Personna (2)
Simpson's Wee Scot
Erasmic Supreme Soap Stick

EJ Sandalwood AS/B

Three pass, face lather.

Splendid! I seem to (almost always) get very good shaves from lighter weight razors.

That's the end of the EJ sandalwood ASB though...can anyone recommend a good relacement? EJ stuff is good, but pricey.

Woodhead scuttle
Proraso soap
Bull Mastiff deluxe with New head
Astra Platinum (1)

Very nice leisurely shave with the Bull Mastiff. Good little stubble mower. :icon_biggrin:

Prep: Hot shower + Proraso
Brush: New forest knot in old barbers handle
Razor: Kamisori, Tosuke
Soap: MdC
AS: Mennen SB
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D

POINTY SHARP! My God, even though I was ultra careful, I still got a nick, right before I was finished. But on the other hand some areas of the face hasn't been this soft and clean since I was a toddler, really.

Friday

Ever Ready 1912 with Gem blade (2nd shave)
Nanny's CItrus Zinger shaving soap
New Forest silver tip
Alum
Sunburyboy's Barbershop Bay Rum aftershave
Dermalogica Active Moist moisturiser

My second day of single edge shaving, as it was friday I wasn't in a hurry I used a scuttle with the soap. No heating still so the warm lather was a nice luxury. I still cannot get over the sound of the razor passing over my skin, it still sounds like an adjustable that hasn't been closed properly. It sounds as if I should be sore for a week aftert the shave, but very smooth and very little irritation.
