Friday 11/10
Nice day out, should be a pleasant walk to the station.
Prep: Hot Shower
Soap: Phyto Expert
Brush: NF 2221
Blade: Shark SS
Razor: Flair Tip Super Speed
Post: Thayers Lemon WH
AS: Tet-a-tet
I have been holding off using the Phyto for a while. It's always seemed a but unappealing, lacking in scent or menthol and to be blunt the packaging is very generic. I like my russian stuff to look russian this looks rather more "boots". The Flair Tip SS has been similarly neglected.
The Phyto face lathers well when applied direct to the brush. There is a hint of menthol in there although it only seemed to be really apparent on that third pass. The cushioning was decent as was the slick effect and the 2221 easily held enough fit three passes and more. Verdict: Not a bad soap at all.
Flair tip SS; strange: last time I used this I am sure I decided it was aggressive. This morning it was a pleasant "keen" shave. It's piqued my interest in SS's for sure. I'll give it a spin with a soap I am more familiar with soon, maybe TOB's or Monsavon. Though not tomorrow, tomorrow is reserved for the first straight shave using the ERN Andy honed up for me. GULP, there could be claret all over the shop as they say round here.
Good start to the day, shall follow this with a coffee and a pastry on the way into work.
