Monday with 2 days growth

KOS Prime face wash
KOS Sensitive with 5 blade cart
Mama Bears with added Sea Buckthorn
Thayers unscented
Brut EdT

2 passes, smooth clean and simple.

Muhle R41
DUKE 2
TOBS Lavender SOAP

Bit disappointed by the scent of the TOBS - NOTHING like their lovely Lavender cream, but the lather was very passable, sort of the opposite of what I was expecting...

Monday:

Hot shower
T+H Lavender cream, Edwin Jagger black badger
Merkur HD, Lord super chrome (1)
Cold rinse, alum
Ogalalla bay rum, lime and peppercorns flavour

First time with a Lord SC, not all that sharp really, and there's a lot of roughness on the face where a 7 o'clock would have swept clean. Still, I tried, and it's presentable enough, but it's not going to be a long term blade.

Monday

Gillette Ball End Tech, English
Lord SC (2)
Grosvenor 404 Bodger
Yardley (Vintage) Soap

Blue Stratos AS
Nivea ASB

Three pass, face lathered.

Good enough. The Yardley soap is terrific and it's about 50 years old.

I rescued the Blue Stratos from my Dads' stash but it's going down the plug tonight; it smells off to me; ugh. Can after shaves actually go off?

'66 Gillette Superspeed

Not used the Superspeed for ages. It's a great little razor and works nicely with the Shark blade.

Lat night I franticly had to search for my Hammersfahr, because I wanted to use it..
Looked high and low for it, to no avail, but it turned up this morning. (I was worried I accidentally sent it off to someone!)
Well, what a treat, this blade is truly amazing!

  • Razor: Gotlieb Hammersfahr rescaled & restored by Andy
Strop: 3" Basic Bridle strop by Neil
    Prep: KoS Shaving Oil
    Brush: Fidos Pure
    Soap: Nanny's Rosy
    ASB: T&H 1805[/list:u]

An almost "in house" shave today, and it just goes to show what great people we have here!
I might have to see the Prof about a prep oil and an ASB, to make it a 100% in house shave :p

    Result: BBS

    Max

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Savile Row 208 badger
1958 Executive/Feather
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Caron 'Yatagan' EdT

BBS results,

Martin

Monday,

forgive me but my first post here and new here and first shave with a DE razor:

Hot towl
Merkur 34c
Derby blade
Pure Badger Shaving Brush
Taylor of Old Bond St Shaving Cream (Avocado)
Proraso Shave Cut Healing Gel (just a wee bit for first shave).
Geo F Trumper Coral Shaving Skin Food

First time using a DE and opted to shave just downwards to let my face adapt and for me to learn a new style of shaving. My first sweep was grand but the second the cream was a little running and my techique needs some learning around my neck.

I think I went just a little to slow and a little bit extra pressure as I was just a little nervous

However much less discomfort and only a little bit sore arround the lower neck, I put this down to my technique as its only the first day and I am on holiday for a week before starting a new job so a good week to get up to speed.

Not sure about the Taylor cream, I might try the Cyril Salter Luxury Shaving Cream (Indian Sandalwood) tomorrow.
