Nivea face wash
Feather Artist Club RG (wood), ProGuard blade (3)
Trumper's Limes soap
New Forest High Mountain Badger
Trumper's Limes skin food and GFT cologne
Even by my recent standards this was an extremely good shave .
Seehund 5/8, NF2213, GFT Sandalwood, Alum, Old Spice Whitewater
Well it was a little annoying, I messed up the lather for the 1st pass (too dry) not sure how I managed that with a Trumpers product but I did. The Seehund had come fresh off the coticule with an experimental 60 finishing laps on mineral oil. The shave was excellent despite the poor lather so the honing must have been spot on.
Truefitt and Hill hard soap
Edwin Jagger black badger
Edwin Jagger DE87
Gillette 7 o'clock green (1)
Ogalalla limes and peppercorns
Rubbish first pass with the EJ DE87, it's just not aggressive enough, or it doesn't suit the blade. Merkur 34C HD came on as a sub in the second pass. Better. Decent enough finish.
Thursday:
Godrej cream
Edwin Jagger black badger
Merkur 34C HD
Gillette 7 o'clock green (2)
Ogalalla limes and peppercorns
old butterscotch Ever Ready badger
1958 Executive/Gillette Super Chromium (NOS)
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
SebaMed AS Balsam
Guy LaRoche 'Drakkar Noir' EdT (vintage juice)
Nice shave today with this old blade. It's made in the UK, but I have no idea when. Little better fit than the old Schick used the last couple of days.
Morning Coffee: Hills Brothers Original Blend
Prep: Wash face with Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: Schick G1
Blade: Schick
Soap: MWF
Brush: Semogue 2011 LE Finest Bristle 1 #49
Scuttle: Dirty Bird 1.5
Post: Cold water rinse followed by some Floid Blue
Gillette #58
Perma-sharp Super
'Keith' 2 band badger
Coate's Lime cream
Another fine shave with the #58, this time loaded with a Perma-sharp. At this rate the #58 is presenting a serious challenge to the Red tip as my favourite vintage Gillette.
