Hot shower.
Mixture of Ingrams and Men-u creams with 5 drops of glycerin added. (I'm in an experimental phase as far as shave creams go.)
Ever Ready 1912 with Treet carbon blade.
Men-u bristle brush.
Cold rinse.
Boots witch hazel and tea tree lotion.
Nivea ASB.

Excellent shave - I'm loving these SE razors. No burn, irritation, nicks or cuts.

Disposed of the Treet blade after one shave as it was already discolouring, and I have 100 stainless Gem blades I bought from Paul at Connaught.

Simpson Colonel LE
Nanny's Patchouli soap
#21 Aristocrat
Astra SP
Barbershop Bay Rum AS

Closest shave in a while and only needed two passes and some touch up under the chin. Nanny's soap creates extremely slick lather. :)

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields badger
1958 Executive/Gillette Super Chromium (NOS)
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Roger and Gallet 'Vetyver' EdT (used as AS)

Second shave with this old UK made blade and another very nice experience. Maybe not quite as sharp as the Iridium, but pretty close. I'd have no problem using these every day if needed.

BBS results,

Martin

Friday:

Gillette #58
Perma-sharp super
Frank Shaving Portland finest
La Toja soap
Acqua di Parma colonia

This morning:

Nivea face wash
Feather Artist Club RG (wood), ProGuard blade (5)
Trumper's Sandalwood cream
New Forest High Mountain Badger
Trumper's Sandalwood skin food and cologne

Glorious. I suspect, like Ian, the ProGuard is key, but I have yet to put my brave pants on and try the others!

Friday:

Truefitt and Hill hard soap
Edwin Jagger black badger
Merkur 34C HD
Gillette 7 o'clock green SS (3)
West Indian Limes cologne by Crabtree and Evelyn

For me there is no better razor after one year in the game. I'm selling up my old guard because I'll never use them. Class stuff, all came together for a solid result.
