Shave of the day w/c 26/11/2011

Re: RE: Shave of the day w/c 26/11/2011

This morning:

Nivea face wash
Feather Artist Club RG (wood), ProGuard blade (4)
D R Harris almond soap
New Forest High Mountain Badger
Trumper's Coral skin food
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet cologne

These shaves just keep getting better. No spotting to an exploratory tissue, and add near BBS as makes no functional difference, with zero irritation.

Friday

Sprock 6/8 - Vie Long Horse Badger mix - Arlington Cream - Alum - Pashana Original

Simply fantastic, BBS.

Hot Shower
Merkur 38B
Gillette 7 O'Clock Green (3)
C&E Sienna Cream
Kent BK4
GFT Lime Skin Food
TOBS Jermyn Street Cologne

2 passes and touchups. Somehow I'm finding this blade actually feels better with each shave, which is odd.

Friday Morning

Pre : shower followed by a hot towel and EJ pre shaving cream
Razor : Merkur 1904 Open comp
Blade : Feather
Brush : Semogue LE2011 Finest Bristle 1 #15
Moss Scuttle
Soap : EJ Aleo vera
AS : Alum + EJ Aleo vera balm

Edwin Jagger DE89 with Gillette "the spoiler" super stainless blade
St. James founders reserve cedarwood and clarysage cream
TOBS shaving shop aftershave gel

First try with this blade. Smooth as all the 1960s Gillette blades seem to be. Could have looked presentable after 1 pass, so good was yesterday's injector shave. Tried to match it today and early signs are good but let's see 12 hours later.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Muhle, 25 mm lovely soft silvertip knot
Razor: Mappin & Webb, My trustworthy
Soap: Nannys French Lavender
AS: Proraso
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Uberclean :D

One of those shaves when it all works out, nice one today! Brush keeps on to surprise me, first I thought the knot was to soft, but it works really well even with hard soaps (lovely soft tips on this one).

Feather AC SS
...

Completely clean shaven. Normal service has been resumed :)

Ian

Very nice to see that life with the Feather is going so well as time goes by.

Hi Konstantinos,

Indeed. I can't use it every day owing to time constraints. The last thing that you need to be with the Feather in your hand is in a hurry! The shaves with the AC are usually very nice, and I'm convinced that the Proguard blade is king.

Friday

Edwin Jagger DE89
Shark Super Chrome Blade
New Forest 2201 Brush
Proraso Cream
Clinique Post Shave Soother

Given that this is the first morning this winter that we have had to remove ice from either of the cars, my first thought was that Proraso was probably not the best option. Hell, it only makes your face cold, right? Top drawer shave.

Ian

EJDE89
Red Personna
Vulfix Mix
St. James cedarwood and clarysage cream
Ogallala Bay Rum, Sage and Cedar
Ogalllala Bay Rum Cologne

Lovely shave, and to continue the theme some ground cloves sprinkled into the porridge this morning along with some ginger. Very nice on a frosty morning.

Razor: Gillette Sheraton
Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra NOS
Brush: Semogue 2011 LE Finest badger 1 and Semogue 2011 LE Finest bristle 1 (had to try them both)
Soap: Speick shave stick
Aftershave: Thayers Witch Hazel AS and Floid Blue
