Tuesday 29th January 2012
Prep: Shower
Razor: Valet Autostrop
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated de-spined and modified
Brush: Omega 39 Boar
Cream: Lea Sensitive
Aftershave: RSC Balm

A good shave, the Lea creams (both the standard and the sensitive) are IMHO certainly decent enough but not in the same league as the superb Lea lanolin and glycerine sticks.

Regards
Dick.

Hot shower
Hot flannel
Nanny's Violet soft soap scuttle lathered
Simpsons Colonel brush
Weber POL stainless bulldog handle
Gillette silver blue (1)
Cold rinse
Witch hazel
Boots original bay rum

Smooth comfortable shave. First time out with the Nanny's Violet soft soap. I smeared a small peanut size blob round the scuttle and lathered up, which worked a treat. The Gillette silver blue is a new blade for me a pack of 5 came with a razor couple of weeks ago. All in very pleased with todays results

Hot flannel
Proraso Pre, Green
NF Tubby 1 brush, Nanny's Cedarwood and Vetyver hard soap
Weber Polished, Astra SP (1)
Cold splash, Alum block
Clinique post-shave healer

What a difference a day makes. After yesterday's bloodbath I decided to go with the Weber/Astra combination... carefully.. face still sore
Managed to get the most awesome lather from the hard soap. I thought I preferred Nanny's soft soap, now I'm not too sure. I've decided that the extra effort and concentration required from getting a good lather from a soap (raqther than a cream) puts you in the right frame of mind for decent prep overall, which is a good thing... time permitting
Also decided that the Proraso Green is preferable to the White (for me). The white seems a bit granular and doesn't go on as smoothly and evenly... think I'll be buying a mega tub of the Green and saving the little tub for travel.

Afternoon, everyone.

Are The Hives becoming TSR's in house band Mikael? Nice camera action on the Fender Telecaster :)

Cheers guys (well, The Hives should thank you)! They're a great band and with the same name as a Simpson brush I think they've earned the right to perform once in a while :D

Soap: Provence Sante verlaine
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Rosewood

First shave in almost a week due to the 'bastard bronchitis' as I've neatly christened it.

I was starting to look like Bluto!!

Anyway

Weber ARC with UFO Godzilla handle
Personna Red (1)
Simpsons Chubby 1 in best
Wilkie soap stick (face lathered)
Witch hazel
Wilkie AS balm

It was like being in my own Shavenation video. Cleared the runways and away I went.

Not BBS but pretty damn close. Nice to be clean shaven again.
