Well i was brave enough this morning to use the Alcolado, and it has one Damn hell of a punch when it hits yer chops,
but after that it does settle and gives your chops a nice cooling menthol tingle, and the scent dies down slightly too, so i take back all my nasty comments, it's pretty good stuff, and i shall be ordering more !

i have decided not to use the Alcolado as a Splash, (it smells like Strepsils & Cough Mixture !!!) but i can say from using it, it's bloody good stuff for Mosquito Bites !!

..I'm sorry, but I have to say it : IT SOUNDS LIKE A COP-OUT TO ME !

Right   , i'm gonna try it in the morning, if i don't post on here tomorrow or the following day, it will be because they don't have

Well ... that's just great - and I was gonna offer to take it off your hands, as you got it for free anyway. I hope you enjoy it so much it hurts.

...Just kidding! glad you manned-up & cooled down.

A rather self-referential post re: an 'acquisition' of this week, which is particularly conspicuous by its abscence.

  • My apologies, to any and all, ... well, ... mostly.[/list:u]

If you're feeling stressed, just sit down, have a splash of the magic green stuff and feel the tingle as the menthol takes the stress away !!

I got these two late this week, the "Royal Ring" was brand new - never been used! Now, I might have got my honing technique wrong all this time, for fear of over-honing, as I went a bit further with this one. WOW! What a smooth shave! Quite noisy, as it's a full hollow and I hadn't shaved for a couple of days, but easily the best shave I've had with a straight.

The Gotta is pretty much unmolested as well, although it has a bit of tarnish on the edge at the toe which didn't come off when honing. I might have to invest in a small polishing tool of some kind, any suggestions?

She might kill me for this - if I'm really lucky, that is

Not sure how or why I did this, or why of all the snipes I ever attempted on ebay, why this one actually worked, but ...

I have apparently won a "Vintage Gillette Aristocrat Razor 1946/47".

  • It's gold. ... plated.
    • Still, it's gold.
      • £12.00 including postage.
        • ... I don't even know of that's a good price for an Aristo. [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

          The vendor's blurb:

VINTAGE GILLETTE ARISTOCRAT RAZOR - This aristocrat is the no notched , end caps razor of 1946/47 . Many believe this is model is the most aggressive shaver of the aristocrat family. If so... then for some it will also be the best shaver. RAZOR CONDITION - The plating on this particular razor is rather thin (still gold but a lighter shade than would be ideal ) There is no rust , spotting etc . TTO(twist to open) mech works perfect. Condition is not what i would call collectable standard but it is a good , clean ready to shave razor.

I know almost nothin' about Aristos. I mean,
              • You catch 'em, you rough 'em up,
                • you incarcerate 'em, you rough 'em up some more,
                  • you starve 'em, you rough 'em up even more and ...
                    • and then you guillotine 'em with some crazed old hag knitting in the front row shrieking for blood, yeah?
                      • - that's about it, right?[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
                        [/list:u]

                        A gold Aristocrat ...
                        • ... I'm an anti-monarchist fer cryin' out loud!
                          • ... and something of a socialistic, hippie, anarcho, punk [/list:u][/list:u]

Congratulations! I spotted that last night with just a few minutes left to run, and thought "Shall I ??" but in the end decided I've had enough deliveries this week!
