IMG_1356.jpegAnother Brilliant shave.
I really like this soap made with mud,
That’s probably me all over lol.
i’m getting a bit fed up with synthetics and use them very sparingly these days but this one is one of my favourites.
iv just checked the price on Ali Express and it’s just over £5.
iv got Synthetics at nearly £100 but i prefer this one crazy i know but there’s just something nice about it.

Razor = Karve Christopher Bradley ( 3 )
Blade = Winner Special Platinum
Brush = Turn N Shave Custom 26mm Boar Stoat
Cream = The Body Shop Maca Root & Aloe
with matching balm & Edt.

Again another bbs.
I genuinely think this scream is underrated.
A top performer that would match any more expensive brands.
Day off for me today so just chilling having a few beers watching a few movies.
I need these Sundays off to recharge the batteries.
Onwards & Upwards
Stay Safe

Brush: C&H 'Finned' V14
Soap: A&E Barbiere Classico
Razor: Frederick Reynolds 13/16 Swayback
Post: A&E Barbiere Classico AS & EDP

I've been looking forward to this one since its surprise arrival. It's got some weight to it but it balances well, though I had a bit of a wobble on the ATG pass on the neck and managed to catch myself slightly. Nicely manoeuvrable, and the hone job from the seller is actually quite good (I say quite good but it's still better than I can currently do by a country mile).

Very happy and smelling good, hope everyone has a grand day.

Cheers

Marc

Time and patience. The Omega boar brush produces its first good two pass shave lather and no sign of fade on the bush. I’m really happy with that. Another easy shave with the Henson and a splash of the chilling Floïd. Great stuff.

Razor: Wolfman WR4
Blade: Feather Pro, 2nd use
Brush: Shedeleven Spalted Scottish Hawthorn AP Shave Co G5C 26mm Fan
Bowl: 3D Printed Bowl
Preshave: Bart’s Balm Preshave Sample Oil
Soap: Signature Capra Insurium Puck
Aftershave: Proraso Green Aftershave
Balm: Proraso Crema Liquida Dopobarba Balm

Day 2 with the WR4 and was it as good as I felt it was yesterday…yes! It certainly doesn’t leave the skin feeling delicate like multiple days use with the Vector can. A 3 pass glass BBS with little effort, the search for an ultra close, super smooth but not aggressive razor may be complete! The search for the cash to buy one however…
I have got into the habit of using my razors for 3 days in a row, typically to make sure everything gets used, more aggressive razors are balanced by milder ones and to ensure they warrant their place in the Den. This would be a keeper as it is and push at least two AC’s out of my den. I’m probably making this judgement way too early but I’m seriously considering adding myself to its waiting list. @Scorpio93 did I read it right when you said they were considering an aluminium version? I actually think the lightness of this head only adds to how well it works so I’d probably seriously consider one over a steel, in a better the devil you know evaluation.
I did wonder how well the large head would cope manoeuvrability wise but it’s so thin it’s actually a breeze in the usual difficult places. I’d also say the best results I’ve got so far seem to be from a shallower angle, on any other razor I’d say I was riding the cap but this just got closer and smoother results, quite a design feature.
On a separate note the Signature Soap Capra Insurium was so good today. I just need @BrianH to develop and all body vat/spray of it for me to constantly cover myself in over the summer!

Pre - Droyt's Classic Glycerose Soap
Brush - Silver Birch Brushes - Cocobolo 26mm Silvertip
Soap - OSP Spirits
Razor - Mühle R41GS
Blade - Bic Astor (Ελ.)
Post - Alum rub & Cold water Rinse
Balm - Barts Balm Ben Lomond - Cinnamon & Patchouli
A/S - Dior Sauvage
Wk 26 (2).jpg
I fitted a new BIC Astor Ελ. into the R41GS as I'd had relative success with a used one last week, however, that edginess it gave the Athena makes the R41 feel downright dangerous. I completed 2 passes WTG then ATG for a very close finish, i was also rewarded with a small weeper on my top lip under nose and a slight graze under the chin. The Alum block only highlighted these 2 areas although the blade did not smooth out towards the end of the shave. I have palm stropped and refitted it for its next shave later this week, hopefully that will remove the edginess.
Not the best shave i have had although i my face is squeaky clean and BBS.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

@LeeMaz plenty of body butters on the website

Sunday 25 June
Staying with the 7 o’clock theme but todays choice just a few decades older than yesterday’s DE. It needs the ubiquitous and slightly modded GEM personna blade but for all that this old boy is still easy to use with an acceptable result if a bit on the mild side after 2 passes and pick ups.
Bay rum soap and re-knot badger gave good workable lather and a fine distinctive scent.

Enjoy the day fellas!

Ikon X3 on an ATT alu handle - Simpson Case pure - Arran Lochranza soap & balm. Terre d' Hermes.

I haven't used the Arran Lochranza for a while - a lovely soap. A beautiful scent for warm weather - an earthy patchouli & vetiver base lifted up by citrus notes. Delicate but sophisticated - not the knock-out - room filling level of scent that prevails with many artisan makers these days. In that, it reminds me of DR Harris hard soap. Which is no bad thing in my opinion. Oh - the Lochranza comes in a 'pebble' soap dish - which is pretty cool. Cheers all - shave well -
I.

Pre - Palmolive
Soap - Nivea Sensitive Pro
Brush - Yaqi Faux Horse Rainbow Handle
Razor - Gillette 70's Tech
Blade - Treet Durasharp (1)
Post - Alum/Effect Cucumber/Lea Balm
AS - La Rive Brutal Classic.

I picked up a lot of irritation, lots of post shave burn, I think it might have been down to the blade. A few hours later and my face is still burning.

Ah well. These happen I guess!

Anyway gents. I hope you are all enjoying the warm weather.

Third shave with the excellent modern London Bridge blade.

I've managed to use up the Rose of Bulgaria aftershave lotion I got as a present in early March. It's excellent stuff but I am trying to get a few things used up.
The GD Lavender shaving soap is nearly there and I have the Wars Fresh and Cella lotions firmly in my sights!
