Razor - Blackland Blackbird Ti
Blade - Feather Hi Stainless
Soap - Rex Supply Co - 1955
Brush - Chisel and Hound silvertip
Bowl - Capitans Choice - Copper
Post - Refinery ASB
Frag - Old Spice

The label on this soap is off centre so as far as I'm concerned it must be an artisan soap! :)

The shave was a great one, super close and super smooth, the Feather blade is well behaved in the titanium Blackbird and always gives a great shave.
I'm loving this soap, the lather it produces it thick, slick and creamy, perfect!
I'm already looking forward to my next shave with this set up.

Until the next time, stay safe and shave happy!

@Blademonkey I’m not sure if I’ve ever hand labelled a lid spot on!! Only use “rack of the eye” labelling!

Rooney 1/2 Horn Finest (24/50)
XPEC Original shaving cream (vintage Forester Milan version)
Wolfman WR2-SB/Darwin Copper
Wilkinson London Bridge (5)
Barrister & Mann Cologne Russe aftershave

Initially I didn't like the XPEC or the Cologne Russe scents, but over time I have come to like their musty, dank, Turkish bath tones. I wouldn't want to use them every day, but I enjoy them when they come around in my rotation about once a month. As always, the Wolfman was extremely smooth.

New to me US made 1912 arrived today, remarkably good condition and aesthetically a nice looking thing. A quick clean up and threw a blade in a GEM Persona blade from Connaught and gave it a try...

Omega boar brush (standard affair now)
Hampshire lanolin No.2
1912 US Made
GEM Pesona Blade
Nivea Sensitive Balm

So... No blood, no real weepers etc so first effort with an SE can be seemed a relative success. Obviously I did no research on how to actually shave with one of these and just went for it...

I found the angle to be fairly critical, shallower the better and really let me know if I was off, less haste more care required.... First pass is always a bit tuggy if I'm not careful, this was no excepetion but it did the job. Second pass was very easy, slow and steady seemed to work best for me, I guess as technique improves so will the shave. Neck area was the usual mess about with direction etc but worked it out so will improve next time.

Two passes and ended up with a shave as close as alot of my DE shaves, smoothness was ok but room for improvement.

Definitely worth a go and made a nice change having to pay a bit more attention than usual, it will get a runout for a few more days to improve my technique and try a different soap or two then see if it gets rotated in again.

Paul.
Who was the guy who wanted a free replacement soap (and keep the original one) just because the label wasn't perfectly placed? I think he got banned.
