SOTD : Saturday 27 August - Friday 2 September 2022.

See if I can get this one in before the day disappears and it becomes another 'Yesterday's Shave Of The Day'. So themed 'Today's shave today'

Not yesterday's razor - Occams Enoch
Or tomorrow's blade - Schick Proline
This was today's brush - Hive-2
An everyday donkey - Savonniere du Moulin

The perfect clock for SOTD's

A long time since I used the donkey soap and what a revelation. God bless donkeys. I can't say I'd like to milk one but looks like the French have pretty well nailed it and managed to make a damn fine shaving soap as a consequence. I understand there are some ladies who milk donkeys, but not as one might imagine.......and I shall leave it at that.

But a superb soap and needs more brush time. It also needs a Pringles crisps tube cap, but I don't eat Pringles so I'll stick with the waxy bit of paper.

The Enoch remains a shaving God with me.

Slap it all together and do some of this, that and the other and voila, a sublimely super shave. Big grin value. But not as some donkeys apparently.
'You want to do what with me? A Brazilian what?'

Hope your extended weekends were relaxing and damn fine. Enjoy the week ahead and have some Japanese ladies as a start

Ganders Goat Soap w/Hop, Sage & Birch
Hampshire Wool Fat Shaving Soap & Kent Infinity+ Silver Fibre
Ever Ready 1914 & GEM by Personna (1)
Gillette Series Wild Rain (Vintage) Aftershave

We don't hear much about the 1914 ...

Remember, in 1914, this was the Ever-Ready brand competition to the GEM Damaskeene since the 1912 as it's called did not come about until 1919. From my analysis of the razor (see: https://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/co...-1924-identification.25875/page-2#post-837536) we can see that it did survive across the 1919 breakpoint and with those capless Test Outfits, it did seem that the 1914 had more to offer ASR ... but it would appear to dwindle into the annals of history and by 1924, there was a replacement issued in.

It should be more celebrated!
It is a fine razor and performs as well as the Damaskeene, imho.

Greetings,

Last early morning shave of the month for me.

The Snmirn Adj / Feather Hi Stainless paired together wonderfully making a superb combo mowing through my stubble with effortless ease.

The HWF lanolin shaving soap provided a great lather.

All of the HWF lanolin soaps i have purchased still perform & smell ok with no indication that the ingredients are starting to deteriorate.

Another wonderful 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)
