Smooth and quick for todays wedding anniversary shave. The bodgers second use and it whips up a lather wonderfully easily, I can’t wait until it softens and splits that little more. It’s firm still but just creates so much lather you don’t feel it’s only the 2nd use! The Twig is just so smooth and easy I think it will be what I buy for my son to start learning with in the next year or two when he’s old enough.
Still have the wife and son isolating, but both feeling fine so my shaves are the high point of the day, along with walking the dogs!

A celebration shave this morning after achieving a near miracle ….......... an appointment with a GP !
I was looking forward to this second shave with the Treet King blade but I only got half way through the first pass and swapped it for the trusted GSB. The Treet felt good in the EJ 3one6 but in the Blackbird it was very tuggy and almost felt dull. I could hardly believe it was the same blade.
Once the blade issue was dealt with I had a fantastic shave. Extremely close and comfortable. A new soap courtesy of BST and @SeanC and it worked very well. An uncomplicated, clean, talcum powder kind of scent which was quite refreshing followed up with Proraso Green A/S & Balm. Beautiful.

A much better shave using the Gillette Platinum. To hell with the BICs!

I love these Nuávia soaps but I fear they're going to join the other soaps that are too rich for my skin type. Had a couple of spots from the last shave but that could've been from the god awful blade. This shave will be the test.

So this was the day and the last day of full time employment as I move towards semi retirement in the new year. One week a month instead of two. Three whole weeks off at a time. I can live with that. After 45 years at sea I now reach the position of half a Captain, which some would argue is all I ever was.

Pro-granddad time and a life with my family.

And so a great shave to wrap it all up. After a week of living with the same Tatara DE (and a wonderful one at that) it was time to remind myself why I still rate SE's so highly and what a way to do it.

A brilliant and happy shave for half a man

Pre Shave: Haircut and Shower

Shave.
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
Soap: Cella Almond
Blade: Astra green #4
Bowl: Tesco Side Dish
Brush: Yaqi Monster 30mm Barber Pole

The Cella Almond is a rather sweet fragrance, not one I would normally enjoy, however I think it is well balanced and the lather never fails to suprise me.
I love the Yaqi 30 mm brush. Although synthetic it's like using a family of Badgers on your chin. Or in my case Chins.
I Can't fault the Gillette Slim Adjustable. Probably my most used razor in my humble collection of 10 razors. On setting 4, with most blades but generally an astra green, all be it mild, produces an excellent 2 pass shave with and X the grain.

Finished off with a splash of the renowned old spice, not the likeliest of pairings with Cella Almond but it worked for me.
