I decided to use my Giesen & Forsthoff Timor as it’s another favourite, on the mild side of my collection, like the Feather AS-D2. They both work well, although compared to the completely knurled handle on the Feather, the unknurled upper part of the Giesen & Forsthoff’s handle, makes it less grippy.

I like the smell of the LEA professional shave cream, which comes in what can only be described as a comedy sized tube. It’s scent is the same aquatic freshness as the shavesticks and balm, but sadly its lathering performance is not as good as the shavestick. Even with double the amount of cream that I would use if shaving with a TOBS cream, the lather is not thick and seems to dissipate quickly in the bowl. That, I suppose, explains the massive tube. To be fair the cream is inexpensive and as with all LEA products, is great value, although the shavesticks though are better performers.

Stay safe and enjoy your shaves.

If these were the only razors you could get, i would not be disappointed, i have just had another very acceptable shave with this mild, "vintage" razor. I still need to perfect the angle over and under the chin, saying that, a DFS++ comfortable finish.
The blade is holding up well with no change in feel at all.
Not looking forward to tonight, bloody fireworks and my Ruby don't go together, she is in for a real stressful night.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All

Schick Proline ( 5 )

Despite its apparent bulk this is a surprisingly nimble Razor.Once in the hand the weight seems to disappear and the Razor is so well balanced that a Shave is really enjoyable,I had no problems getting a rather nice close all round finish without any hassle.

Yes and Yes! The vetiver is so fresh AND earthy if you know what I mean. Just a lovely scent. Just shows that spending a little bit extra is certainly worth it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
Brill! I do have a good few of his blends; this being a single scent attar, it should be really clear and sounds like it is. Super! Khus is indeed the grassiness above the vetiver root, so yes ... it should be earthy but more so, fresh green.
