SOTD : Saturday 24th April to Friday 30th April 2021.

I remember you mentioning how you made your stand for the Karve but I can't find it anywhere now. What did you use?
Hi and thanks for asking.
The razor stand is just some cheap flare brass nut for refrigeration that I found while rummaging in my local hardware store. I wanted the Karve brass stand but it's too expensive and I could get either 3 shave soaps or another razor for that price...:LOL:
I found a suitable stand for the GEM razors too. Here's another look at the stand...I needed to add extra weight otherwise it will topple over...added some duct tape for a smooth and no damage entry.

I think it looks great and I love the socket stands!

Kai Titan mild #2

Broke out the Mongoose to shave with for the next three weeks as I get fifteen shaves out of these very sharp single edge blades. Nice shave with the tallow soap that is tobacco scented, the mongoose is broad and ruthlessly efficient shaver.

Pre: Proraso Green
Soap: Proraso Green
Brush: 24mm Yaqi Sagrada Familia Tuxedo
Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Gillette London Bridge (1)

After receiving my first Covid jab yesterday -and ticking just about every box on the side effect list - I knew there was only one setup that would help this morning. Paracetamol, strong coffee and menthol!
Really loving the Merkur now. It feels solid, and despite my recent moans about it being a little boring it does give scope to experiment more with blades etc. I've been waiting to try one of the London Bridge blades kindly sent over by George @gthe and today was the day. It's fair to say I favour blades that have "platinum" or similar in the title, and I do think Shark Stainless tainted my view of a large number of blades purely because of the Stainless tag.
All I can say is wow! I'm mightily impressed, and concur with numerous other posts on here about its efficacy. The lightest touch gave a very good finish, and it will be interesting to see if day 2 brings shave feels even sharper.

Pre: lather massage, hot towel to the face
Brush: yaqi 26mm mysterious space tuxedo
Cream: Eucris
Razor: Blackbird
Blade: super shave x #3
Post: cold water splash, proraso red asl, L’occitane cedrat aftershave cream

Yet another outing with blackbird - providing nice comfortable DFS++ in 3 passes. Blade performed really well -third outing yet there was no signs of tugging or anything that would indicate to me that it starts having trouble . Binned anyway but sometime in the future I’ll definitely have a test to see how long for they can go.

First outing with Eucris cream - definitely creates nice cushiony lather. About almond size amount provided enough of lather for 4, maybe 5 passes. Scent is nice and enjoyable too - with a decent strength to my nose.

finished the shave off with a bit of proraso red asl, followed up by cream to moisturise the skin a bit - these winds recently seem to be drying up my skin.

Guess that’s it for week of DE use - really looking forward to have another go at the straight this weekend... should manage 3 relaxed shaves with it! And a lot of stropping practice in between!

Have a good day Gentlemen!
