First shave of the year and my first with this 58. All was going so well until I became complacent and gave my myself a small nick on my jawline. Other than that a very enjoyable shave with a pretty razor.

first try of this blade bit tuggy at first and not as sharp as I like but usable.

DR Harris Windsor shaving cream
Edwin Jagger boar
Personna Lab Blue
Commando travel razor
Hai Karate a/s

An obvious combination - DR Harris and Hai Karate! :-D
Perhaps tomorrow Penhaligon's Endymion shaving cream with Lidl's X Bolt aftershave? !!!

Shower using Lynx shower gel

Prep: Dove face wash
Soap: Boots shaving stick
Brush: Wilkinson Sword
Blade: Shark super stainless
Razor: EdwinJagger Chatsworth barely chrome
Post: King of Shaves 'Ultimate'.

The soap stick is lasting well and creates a good lather, when used with the WS brush which can be under rated.

Thursday

Back to work, so time to clear off several days of growth

Nanny's Yushu soft soap
New Forest Tubby 2
FaTip Piccolo
Voskhod
Blue Stratos AS

The Yushu soap was great, nice scent and performance. FaTip mowed through the beard with ease. BBS result.

Thursday ii January, 2014

Prep: Shower, L'Oreal Daily Purifying Wash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Rubberset 400-3 with TGN High Mountain White knot
Cream: TOBS Sandalwood
Razor: Digress HD
Blade: Personna Med Prep #3
Post: Home brewed mentholated Tea Tree witch hazel, Weleda ASB

Result: Very good, apart from one or two small weepers under my chin, an area where I have a couple of rugby scars that need a light touch. The Med Prep works exceptionally well for me, smooth, sharp and generally excellent.

Have a good day.

Greetings ...

Razor: GEM OCMM
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated

I finally got around to trying mine, Dick. What a lovely shave! Using the lightest of touches and treating it with the same caution I reserve for the Muhle R41, it gave me a super smooth shave in one pass with a little polishing.

What a razor!

Mine is a little tatty on the comb and seeing a beautiful example finished in rhodium, I am certain I'll treat this razor to a replate - it will have a home with me for many years.
