That's the most frightening looking shaving implement I have ever seen!

Surely only a serial killer would possess such an abomination!

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: NSS Down Home Summer
Brush: MÜHLE Kosmo silvertip synthetic
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Razor: Progress @2.5,2,1.5
Blade: Polsilver SS (3)
After: WH, Proraso AS, Limes Skin Food

I think in the past I'd been a bit too harsh on Nanny's Silly Soaps. This "Down Home Summer" soft soap is amazing, the thing to watch (in hard water areas) is that enough of the product is used, for me a healthy almond size. The lather is rich, slick and provides good glide and protection. During and post shave the deep scent of Vetyver stays with you.
After finishing my skin feels nicely conditioned.

A very satisfying shave, almost BBS; I blame the Polsilver blade for the "almost" part. I'll use up the rest of my stock but IMO it doesn't match the Rapira SS and Sputnik blades.

I agree - considering how thick Nanny's soap is you'd think that you wouldn't need much but even with softened water I find I do need a fair amount. However, it's MORE than worth it! Probably the best performing soap I've used, and using more of it just means one gets to try a different flavour sooner :)

I currently have three samples plus an olive oil Citrus Zinger and a soft soap Arabian Nights. They even make the iKon Bulldog razor handle a touch slippery let alone the brush handle!

THURSDAY EVENING

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Kai Captain Excelia
Blade: Feather Proguard
Brush: Frank Purtech
Soap: Klar Kabinett\Nannys Citrus Zinger - suribachi lathered
After: Witch hazel & IK balm

Muscle memory getting better. Would have been a claret free shave if I'd not gone for a BBS.

Prorasso Preshave (white)
Prof Blighty's Scaramousche Soap
Kent BK2 Brush
Schick Krona
Gillette Super Platinum Black
and Issey Miyake l'eau d'issey to finish

Good result, I'm developing a light enough touch to go ATG on my throat without irritating.
I'm really liking this little Schick razor, mild and forgiving, stick a sharp blade in it and off you go.

No date code superspeed
2213
Tabac soap
Super iridium
Double base gel to add moisture
As vintage DeViris by Jaques Bogart
Good finish. Tabac came up slightly dry.
Yrs Slack.

That has 1950's Teddy Boy written all over it. Very scary.

Friday vi September, 2013

Good morning, gents.

Prep: Hot shower, Savon de provence Shea butter
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Frank Shaving Pur-Tech synthetic
Soap: NOS Old Spice shave stick
Razor: Digress LD 2.5, 2.5, 1.5
Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock Sharp Edge # 1
Post: Thayer's Medicated WH, Zirh Post Shave Solution
Fragrance: Shulton NOS Old Spice ASL

Result: That's better. Nice and smooth, passed my upper lip to nose test and that area is nice and smooth, so I'm a happy bunny this morning. What a week with the Old Spice. Superb stuff. Wish I'd get it out of the box earlier.

All the best,

Jon

Friday 6th September 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: Valet Autostrop (Canadian)
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated, Modified
Brush: Semogue 620 Boar
Soap: Tweex Stick (grated)
Aftershave: Astral Cream (light)

A wonderfully close shave but this model of Valet is very aggressive and requires extra care.

Regards
Dick.

Friday:

La Toja Stick
New Forrest Tubby 2
Gem OCMM
Gem blade
Barbershop Bay Rum
Nivea Anti-irritation ASB
L'Occitaine Baux EdT

A fine shave from the OCMM, one or two little weepers from the fresh Gem blade, I always find them a bit rough on the first shave. All up hill from here though. Damn near totally smooth.
