Tuesday v August, 2014

Prep: Hot shower, Bulldog Original Facewash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: New Forest Tubby 2
Soap: Mama Bear's Rosemary & Mint Shave Stick
Razor: Merkur Digress HD
Blade: Kai Stainless #2
Post: Floïd "The Genuine", Floïd Bálsamo After Shave
Fragrance: Guerlain Monsieur de Mouchoir

Result: Slightly disappointing after yesterday's silky smooth shave. Couple of weepers but nothing the alum couldn't handle.

All the best,

Jon

Greetings

Tuesday 5th July 2014
Prep: Shower
Razor: GEM OCMM
Blade: GEM Blue Star Carbon
Brush: Semogue OC Boar
Soap: Speick Stick Grated
Aftershave: Astral Cream (light)
EDT: Jaques Bogart One Man Show

It's been quite some time since I had a shave with the OCMM; today's shave simply confirmed what I have believed for a very long time; no other safety razor shaves quite so close; of course this is the opinion of one very biased user!

Regards
Dick.

Tuesday

T&H 1805 cream
FS Pur-Tech Synthetic
#15 Aristocrat
7 o'clock Yellow
Indian Old Spice AS

A couple of passes, in and out of the bathroom in double quick time. Nice smooth results.

I am usualy a every other day shaver as I dont seam to grow enough to allow me to shave every day. Today however I couldnt resist the call of my new wee Omega boar brush that I got in a Proraso travel kit. So this was the setup.

Pre: Hot water wash
Proraso Pre-shave
Soap: Proraso Green tub.
Brush: Proraso (Omega) travel brush.
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Gillette 7Oclock Green SS.
Post: Proraso Green AS.

It was only a test shave using the brush, I partly loaded the brush, bowl lathered and it produced lather quickly although not a lot, but that could be due to not enough product and maybe the brand new brush. Anyhow, I had enough lather for two passes which was enough to get a smooth shave.

Nice wee brush.

Jim.

Bengall, restored (I believe) by Rob, purchased from MJ this weekend, arrived this morning: gorgeous razor ...

IMG_1172_zps9c74a64f.jpg

... decided to use a cream along with the Vie Long HH today, rather than one of my more usual combo's of Mitchell's WF/Semogue OC or Vie Long/Proraso Red: whole setup performed beautifully with the Bengall, giving a lovely smooth shave :)

Cold water splash
Klar Kabinett
MÜHLE 21mm STF V2
ATT M2 Kronos
Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Myrsol Emulsion
Acqua Di Parma Colonia

Mountains of lather from the synthetic MÜHLE, enough for 5-6 passes! Must remember to load less soap when using this brush.

Tuesday

Evening, gents.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Cien Men two-blade system
Blade: Cartridge (7)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave cream: Super Max classic
Aftershave: Forest Fresh
Cologne:

3P
Omega / Proraso travel brush
Proraso Red Cream
Digress
Lab Blue (1)
Myrsol Plastic Shave

The little travel brush works surprisingly well 3 passes bit thin on the last but good enough. Digress on 3 was a not too much so backed off to 2.5.

Prep: Cold Water Splash
Razor: ATT R2 on Weber Bulldog
Blade: Astra SP (1)
Brush Stumpy Gecko Walnut 2-Band
Soap: Nanny's Gannet Squad
Aftershave: Proraso Splash
Result: A very nice shave, great soap, i'll be picking up a full size tin in the near future for sure.
