Prep: Hot shower, Bulldog Original Facewash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: New Forest Tubby 2
Soap: Mama Bear's Rosemary & Mint Shave Stick
Razor: Merkur Digress HD
Blade: Personna Med #1
Post: Floïd "The Genuine", Floïd Bálsamo After Shave
Fragrance: Guerlain Mouchoir de Monsieur

Result: I had great hopes for this soap and it certainly lathers well and I can sense the mint both on the nose and on the skin, but I can't find any Rosemary. It doesn't seem to provide as much slip & slide as I would have expected, but it is still early days.

All the best,

Jon

Soap: Tabac Stick Grated
Aftershave: Astral Cream (light)
EDT: Ted Baker Pashion

Another attempt at straight shaving and again a much less than perfect shave, fairly close but with three nicks, actually two nicks and a gouge, the gouge bled like mad and took a long while to stop, I am on a small daily dose of aspirin which does not help.

I had convinced myself that this razor was not sharp so I have purchased a Naniwa superstone in 12k to top it up, I have done so and the razor is no sharper (probably less sharp) then when Rob honed it for me. I think the razor is now moderately sharp but my technique is so poor that it pulls a lot, I suppose at least part of the test is on my cheeks which are easy to shave in both directions the finish is smooth so the razor must be cutting bristle.

I am amazed by those persons who shave with a straight for the very first time and end up with a perfect result, they are clearly made of very different stuff from me. Thinking back many years I think I found it easier and quicker to learn to drive and ski than shave with a straight razor!

To put the icing on the cake I purchased this Ted baker EDT for a tenner at Savers the discount shop, the scent is cheap and sickly the longevity is between two and three minutes and the sillage extends to about six inches, absolute cr*p!

My failures simply spur me on, but I will need three healing days!

Regards
Dick.

Nice smooth 3 pass shave this morning super slick lather from the soap sample left my face feeling fresh, smooth and clean. Only a little feedback off the alum but not as bad as usual and even then it was just in my trouble spots.

Excellent shave this morning using Nanny's latest soap sample. Great performer, long lasting slick lather. Similar to Stirling I found but lighter/less oily. Best NSS I've ever used.

First go with a Treet and I was in heaven! Absolutely everything that is right about the 1912 and absolutely everything that is right about the Clog Pruf. Three days growth whipped away effortlessly in a very smooth shave.

I'd like to think the chaps at ASR, or wherever they were, engineered this rather than as I suspect, folks around a Boardroom table mumbling about what patents they still own in a vague attempt to innovate a dying market.

Whichever, it was great engineering or a happy twist of fate.

Loved it!
