S.O.T.D. Saturday 23rd August to Friday 29th August 2014

Cold water splash
Lea Stick (grated)
Vulfix 404 handle / TGN 22mm Finest knot
Gillette Tech / Bulldog handle
Sputnik (2)
Floid Balsamo Dopabarba

Dug my British Tech out after a long absence. Very enjoyable it was too!

After a few days on the travel setup, back to some kind of normality.

3P
TBS LE brush
Mikes Rose & Cedarwood
Ikon Deluxe
Sputnik (1)
Homemade coconut and lime rum aftershave

Nice and smooth

Cold Water + Prep Pre Shave
GEM Damaskeene
SirBrian 2 band Finest
Proraso Green
Humphrey's Witch Hazel

Very comfortable shave, a welcome change after a run of bad shaves.

Monday morning

Thought it was time to have a tidy up after a couple of days growth.

iKon Slant
Gillette 7 o'clock Black
Noxzema
Indian Old Spice AS

A quick two passes with foam and the Slant, still pretty much BBS.

How do you like the Ikon chap? I've been thinking about their open comb as my next razor.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1964 Macys rebranded silvertip (big and floppy and fine for creams)
'Roller'/Wilkinson Super Sword Edge (NOS)
Xpec unscented with mixed in vintage Givenchy Xeryus EdT
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Givenchy 'Xeryus' EdT (black bottle)

Still enjoying this rolling guard thing. Very nice using this old blade in it.....one of the better vintage Wilkinsons. One thing to know is not all Super Sword Edge blades are the same.

Added a LOT of this frag to the unscented cream and it barely is evident still. The Xpec just absorbs whatever scent is mixed in. Took quite a bit when using something different last time to. Performance is still fine. I use less product, which took me a while to finally accept. You just don't need quite as much.

BBS results,

Martin

Tuesday 26th August 2014
Prep: Shower
Razor: Henckels 5/8 Stainless
Brush: Vulfix 406 Boar
Soap: Bea Stick Grated
Aftershave: Givenchy Gentleman

A good shave, at last one hundred percent damage free! Not as close as the little Schick I1 injector that I have been using whilst away over the weekend but certainly acceptable enough for any purpose.

Regards
Dick.

I like the iKon a lot. The slant is good for clearing a few days growth but is fine for every day use. Build quality is great. Obviously the OC will shave differently, but should still be good I reckon.

Pre Edwin Jagger + Álvarez Gómez Barbería shaving cream + Semogue 610 + Edwin gold with Permasharp + 4711 lotion with Sergio Tacchini balm + Álvarez Gómez Barbería EdT

Today, a fresh and citric shave!

Cheers!

That's a fine looking shave! How are you finding the Alvarez Gomez range, in particular the cream? Is it a typical cream consistency or more like a croap?
