Gillette NEW (copy)
Polsilver SI [1]
Nivea Sensitive Moisturiser
C&S Mimosa
First pass with the NEW, its just too harsh for me, so will be in BST soon..
Swapped to the DE89 with a Polsilver SI [4], effortless, smooth & comfortable.
How good is the Mimosa!?!? What a lovely scent (thanks LB1!) the Mrs loves it, but why is it so damn expensive?
DFS!

Think this blade has finally had it after what must be around thirty shaves. Got plenty close enough but I can feel it starting to drag.

Week of British Long Combs

I'm having a week with my British long combs ... Day 2

IMG_6159.JPG

Shower
Mystery Soap No.8
Pure Badger
Gillette/Nacet Long Comb
Gillette Super Nacet Platinum (Malaysian) [1]
Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse & Alum Wash
Imperial Leather Aftershave

Bowl Lathered
Two Pass - XTG & WTG (yes, in that order)

Another mystery soap I'm blind testing on another forum. Not as good, poor lather, thin and grippy causing judder on the razor when shaving.

I also found the angle quite hard to get just right and so I'm left with a good, presentable shave but I know I'll want a good shave tomorrow.

Again, fun! It's the GROM tomorrow ...

Bulldog face wash
Wilkinson Sword bowl soap
Wilkinson Sword shaving brush
Wilkinson Sword Classic razor
Perma Sharp blade
L'Occitane CADE ASB

A nice smooth 3 pass shave.

Brush: Simpson M7 Briar 2 band in Silvertip

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: Tabac
Brush: MÜHLE synthetic travel brush
Razor: ATT R2 Kronos
Blade: Voskhod TC (2)
After: Tabac AS, Tabac ASB

First time trying out my Muhle Silvertip Fibre travel brush. It's actually smaller than I thought (shown below against a Tabac stick) and fits in the hand quite nicely. Needed a firm mash into the face to spread the fibres but managed ok and it kept enough lather for my three passes.
The Voskhod blade is also new to me and felt a little nippy so not one of my favourites; I rate Sputnik and Gillette Rubie above this one.
Tabac trio did the business splendidly as expected and final result was a lovely BBS.

Have a great day, chaps.

Wednesday xxi May, 2014

Prep: Hot shower, Dove Men+Care Revitalising Face Wash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Neep Custom Elm Burl MCMXL Penny Farthing (made for Dad)
Soap: L'Occitane Cade (formerly Dad's soap)
Razor: Unknown Open Comb (my Grandfather's)
Blade: NOS Perma-Sharp Stainless #1
Post: Alum, NOS Shulton Old Spice ASL, Kiehl's Ultimate Men's ASB
Fragrance: Roger & Gallet L'Homme EdT

Result: All good. R&G L'Homme is a nice fragrance, spicy at first, but settles down to lovely Vetiver notes after a while. Very pleasing.

All the best,
