A week of shaving in memory of my old man, who's birthday it would have been on Monday.

Prep: Hot shower, Dove Men+Care Revitalising Face Wash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Neep Custom Elm Burl MCMXL Penny Farthing (made for Dad)
Soap: L'Occitane Cade (formerly Dad's soap)
Razor: Unknown Open Comb (my Grandfather's)
Blade: NOS English Wilkinson Sword
Post: NOS Shulton Old Spice ASL

Result: Very nice all round. Face lathered the Cade and it made for a nice, slick, gently fragranced shave. For the first time I have got a really top quality shave using a NOS English Wilkie... finally I see what the fuss is about. All capped off with a splash of the lovely Old Spice juice.

Have a good weekend Gents,

Jon

Haven't used This razor for ages, you certainly know there's a blade against your cheek. Quite the exposure on this one. Face lathered, 2 passes. Cream and a/s smell just like JF, which will be today's edt.

Enjoy the weekend!

Greetings

It may be premature, after just one shave, but this razor is amazing! I always wanted to try one, but always bottled it before buying. Bryan very generously put this one up as a PIF a few days ago and I was lucky enough to get it.

It was far easier to use than expected and I could easily have finished after one pass - more than acceptable! Being a sucker for a BBS, I did a second pass and was rewarded with one of the smoothest shaves yet. I did have a fair bit of burn from the alum, so will perhaps concentrate more on pressure or angle next time, but had zero nicks.

Overall, very successful!

Well for me, using a similar angle as a Fatboy to find my sweet spot makes more sense with this razor.
The heavy mass of this thing makes thick stubble irrelevant, in the same way as driving a Tiger tank through a house is to taking a shortcut!!
Fun though :icon_rolleyes:

A nice summery shave, now back out to enjoy the weather.

Bull Dog face wash
Edwin Jagger Chatsworth ebony synthetic bristle shaving brush
Wilkinson Sword shaving soap
Edwin Jagger Chatsworth barley chrome razor
Gillette 7 o'clock razor blade
L'Occitane CADE aftershave balm.

Despite the Wilkinson Sword soap bowl being very underrated, the lather is actually pretty good when warm, and I had a good shave with it.
