SOTD May 25 2014

Prep : GFT skin food in sandalwood + hot towel
Brush : Semogue 1305
Blade : Q-Ball (1)
Razor : Gillette Rubie
Cream : Mem Olive
Post : alum + DR Harris Sandalwood

And another GREAT shave !
I love the Mem Olive -- it has a beautiful, classy, but barbershoppy scent, and it's also a very soothing cream.
Q-Ball blade + Gillette Rubie razor = BBS w/ ZERO irritation for me. Quick too.
If it get's better than this, I don't wanna know about it. Yes, I am that super-satisfied with today's line-up and shave.

Week of British Long Combs

I'm having a week with my British long combs ... Day 4

IMG_6167.JPG

Hot Towel
Mystery Soap No.8
Kent Infinity Silvertex
Gillette/7 O'Clock Long Comb
Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus [1]
Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse & Alum Wash
Quorum Aftershave
Quorum EDT

Bowl Lathered
Two Pass - WTG & XTG

Another run with mystery soap no.8, which I was disappointed with on first use but a little more soap and the synthetic seemed to whip it up just perfectly, not thin or unprotective, quite the opposite.

Lovely razor, but again, the blade did seem to be a little rough. Very sharp, but not what I'd call smooth. I knew I was shaving whereas there are other blades I have that genuinely do not feel like they're there.

In all, enjoyed.

Hot shower

Noxzema shaving cream (great lather/not so good of a smell :) )

New gorest brush - face lathering

Merkur 34c

Personnal lab blue (1)

Cold splash / alum

Ch asl

Great, smooth shave with 2 passes.

Goodnight all

Thursday,

EdT: Terre d'Hermès

I bought the B&M sampler pack and this was my favourite scent out of the bunch, lovely scent and excellent soap to boot.
The Personna is lasting well, 6 shaves in and it still feels like I've just unwrapped the blade.

So, I went for:
Watery Ingrams, bowl lathered
Omega 10810
Weber Bulldog
Zorrik [1]
Alum
Arko Ice ASB
etat libre d'orange london - Charogne
Zorrik blade was binned after first couple of scrapes. Very much like supermax BDs to me. Swapped to Personna LBs, much better.
Still need to find the best blade for the Weber as a little bit if sting from the alum.
Smooth as silk though...
The Charogne is, shall we say, an acquired taste!

That's the beauty of the etat libre d'orange range. The ones I've smelt are all very unique and like nothing else out there. Certainly some marmite ones although I liked the Charogne haha!
