Yesterday's shave wasn't a great one, and I wanted to see whether the boar brush contributed to the irritation, as it is a bit on the scratchy side of things for face lathering. Whilst shaving I didn't feel any adverse reaction to the soap aside from the first pass over a bit off razor burn from yesterday but it became apparent once the shave was complete. I'll leave it for a while until reassessing whether Nivea Sensitive Shaving Cream is another soap to add to my growing of soaps that irritate my face.

As I mentioned yesterday, I thought I'd test the old adage of a smoother blade working well with an assertive razor. It certainly proved successful in this case. I bought a load of Personnas a couple of years ago and kinda forgot about them during the razor/soap/brush/blade acquisition madness.

So, pairing them with the Piccolo has given them life. Very smooth and efficient shave with no need for any pick-ups. Cella was a star performer as always. The Fine as the icing on the cake...

First use of a strongly mentholated soap in Lemon Chill. I initially had some skin irritation when first applied, presumably due to menthol strength, but this disappeared quickly.
The chill was very refreshing, and I didn't have any issues with eye irritation/watering. The scent is predominantly citrus, with a steely menthol backbone.
Performance was great - 3 comfortable passes and a small clean up for a DFS+.
It will be interesting to see if the irritation is still there on next use.
DR Harris Traditional cologne was a great match and finished the shave beautifully.

Friday shave.

One days' growth and warm shave

Preparation – face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)

Pre: Prorosa white pre-share
Soap: P&B – Spitfire (Thank you @MikeyJ)
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Derby Premium (1st) (Black packaging)
Brush: Proraso Omega Boar Brush

Post Shave: Cold water rinse, then a shower, followed by Proraso aftershave lotion (green) and Proraso post shave cream (white)

New Blade and new Soap.

Blade first – hmmmm. Not sure but this blade felt more aggressive than others I have used. Will give it another go not sure – neck has post shave irritation – first time this has happened.

Soap – P&B Spitfire – Wow (again thank you to @MikeyJ). The P&B Spitfire soap lathered up extremely well after using SO much water very thirsty soap and liked the scent, but it did not wow me. The lather was super slick with great residue slickness.

Did 3 passes and no need for touch ups. As mentioned still a little neck irritation, and this time post shave irritation.

That's a week of shaves, now let me skin rest for the weekend.
