Musgo glycerin soap * Kent H8 Brush * MWF * JR Torrey * Alum Block & Thayers Witchhazel * Klamperts Finest Bay Rum (Acadian Spice)

Second ever straight razor shave after getting some good advice about blade angles (A world of difference compared to my Feather Artist Club). Left a lot behind but practice is the key. Two pass on the cheeks with the straight to a DFS. Finished off the rest with the fatboy.

Tuesday iii December, 2013

Prep: Hot shower, Lucky Tiger Face Wash
Brush: Omega 31064 Pura Setola
Soap: Tabac Stick grated into bowl
Razor: Ikon Slant / Digress LD
Blade: Polsilver Stainless / Crown Stainless
Post: Weleda Smooth Shave Toner, Dove Men+Care Sensitive ASB
Fragrance: Penhaligon's Endymion

Result: Still struggling to get an irritation free shave from the Ikon (perhaps a dodgy blade), so finished off with the Digress set to #1. All ended up fine, but slight razor burn still. Time for a blade change methinks to see if it makes a difference.

Good day to you all

Jon

Nice shave last night, left nice and smooth.

Really starting to like the Aqua Velva big time. Smells very nice and finishes the shave well.

Hot shower
Hot flannel
Tabac grated scuttle lathered
Simpson Hive Manchurian badger brush
Gillette New Improved silver
Sputnik (2)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Old Spice sensitive aftershave

First time using the Tabac soap stick which I grated into the plastic tub. I can't say I love the scent but I can get by with it. It makes some lovely slick lather very easily. The scent reminds me of the old barbers shop waiting room I used to go to. Maybe even one of my uncles could have used the aftershave or something it smells like my childhood in a way. Glad I brought the soap out and started to use it.

First time using the Stirling Spice (Old Spice clone) and was a little disappointed. Lather was pitiful, even with distilled water. Lovely and slick, but no volume.
