After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage rebranded Simpsons best
Schick F type injector/Gillette Platinum Plus (NOS)
RL Safari SS
Neutrogena oil free moisture
RL 'Safari' EdT (vintage juice)

Way too long getting this soap wet again. It really is a good one, with great performance and a scent my nose likes a lot. Very smart using this today.

The F type continues it's hold over me. Damn it, I have been trying to enable Paul with this razor but he's not biting. Too bad, because they are sorta tough to come by and a little pricey when you do. Just the sorta thing I like to introduce certain members to. The darn thing shaves amazingly well though......haven't used my adjustable in months..............heh.

BBS results,

Martin

Oh.......not my pics:

Hot shower
Hot flannel
DR Harris Marlborough soap scuttle lathered
Simpson Harvard 4 best badger brush
Gillette 1961 Fat Boy on 3
Ladas (3)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Boots Freshwood aftershave

Decent shave clean and comfortable :)

Monsavon
Vulfix Bodger
Fat Handle Tech, Wizamet Posilver Stainless
Mennen Green Tonic

Been using this razor for a week now. It delivers an excellent shave, with not a lot more buffing than I tend to do with my LC New. Given the mildness I do have to remind myself not to over-shave with it though.

Very attractive set up there Graeme. Did you season the wood for the handle or use green timber ? The 58's have a nice looking handle. I've still got to bring by Ingrams out and use it shame on me

Sunday:

Afternoon, everyone.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Sodial/Junjie
Blade: Rapira (1)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: La Toja
Aftershave: Ricardo L'Homme Sport, Musk
Cologne: Ricardo L'Homme Sport, Musk

Good, problem-free shave. I've been away for a few days for the BBC Food Show in Birmingham. I took the Junjie, some Body Shop shave cream, and some Laser blades from Wilko's which I used once before throwing (I felt like a millionaire!). The combo worked really well, I must say. While in Brum, we went to M&S where I bought some own-brand aftershave under their 3 for 2 offer (two Ambers and 1 Woodspice); with a £10 voucher I paid £2 for all three. Result! I also sampled the Monotheme Vetiver Bourbon Eau de Toilette(fresh and light rather than deeply earthy and good for warmer weather) and Monotheme Amber Wood (an excellent cheap and cheerful L'Air du Desert Marocain).

Tea tree soap
Restored Rubberset Brush (600 I think it says)
Schick I2/ Aristocrat slim #1
Alum
Weleda ASB

The NOS schick is lovely and I have used a L model a few times but made mistake of using one of the original blades, big mistake. Could feel every hair being plucked! Tidied up with Slim on #1 which was very pleasant.

Lesson learned.......vintage razors very nice, vintage blades not so much

Ended up BBS but a few red patches.
