Great shave. Trying to remember I'm doing Movember and not shaving my top lip is difficult, especially when I'm half asleep. Managed to maintain the moustache, unlike the poster above! :)

Monday 4th November

Hot shower
Hot flannel
Sterling Smart Dressed Man scuttle lathered
Simpson Emperor 1 super badger brush
Gillette 58
Gillette Super Thin (1)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Speick aftershave

First shave with the Sterling soap very good easier to lather than I thought. The scent seems to be more noticeable when lathered and on my face. The Super Thin blade seems to work well in the Gillette 58, sharp, efficient and mowed down the whiskers with ease.

Prep: Cold water splash
Soap: Nanny's Bergamot & Coriander soft soap
Brush: Golden Nib 2-band badger knot / Vulfix Grosvenor handle
Razor: Weber Polished/Bulldog
Blade: Personna Lab Blue (2)
Post: Weleda ASB

I'm having real trouble getting halfway decent lather out of this soap. It seems to diappear on its own before I can get the blade to my face, which is too bad as I really like the scent! Pretty average shave as a result :( Looking forward to a better one tomorrow.

Weber Polished, Bulldog
Rapira Super Stainless (2)
Semogue SOC 2-band
Proraso Sandalwood soap
Proraso Aftershave lotion
Diptyque Philosykos edp

Ran out of lather after the second pass. I pushed on with a very light third pass on a thin, insubstantial lather - which was probably ill advised - and the result was fairly mediocre. I'll stick to face lathering the Proraso in future; it's not the most protective of lathers and I find it easier to hit its sweet spot that way. Otherwise uneventful. I like the way that Weber head 'sticks' to your face as you shave.
