Evening shave.

Razor.. Pal Golden Injecto-Matic
Blade..Schick #1
Soap..OSP Lemon and Cedawood
Brush...Omega pure bristle
Post..Thayers Lavender AF WH

My first shave with this razor and it performed much the same as the other injector razors I've used, it gave me a close smooth shave with zero irritation, the OSP soap was as great as it always is with a wonderful scent and the brush tips are getting softer with every use, perfect.
That was a great shave. :)

Wishing you well, over and out.

SOTD: 11/16/2016 - "Fear Not, For I Am With Thee"

Pre: Hot shower
Soap: Soap Commander "Courage" (him) and "Ambition" (me)
Brush: Brushguy "Noah" silver tip (me) & Bevel 2-band (him)
Razor: West Coast Shaving OC on Barber Pole stainless handle (me) & Bevel DE (him)
Post: Soap Commander aftershave balm

My wife and I have the privilege and pleasure of hosting our nephew before we take him to the Missionary Training Center today. He flew in from Wisconsin yesterday and he'll be heading to Argentina at the end of the year. My thoughts this morning were akin to Isaiah 41:10 - "Fear thou not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
God speed, Elder G. You'll do great work for the people in Argentina.

Be smooth and shave it up, everyone!

Wickhams 1912,
Omega 049
Rugra 5/8 straight,
Nivea post shave balm,
David Beckham classic AS,

A great mid week shave, the Rugra only arrived today, and as occasionally happens pretty much shave ready, even though nothing was mentioned by the seller, bonus,
Even managed without cutting myself, and had a really close shave, the first time with the wickhams, seemed to be quite good.

Pre Shave: Hot Shower and Proraso Green
Razor: Gillette New
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (3)
Brush: ToBs Badger brush
Cream: L'Occitane Cade
Post: Cold water and Thayers cucumber
Balm: Nivea Original Replenishing

First shave with a Gillette New that I picked up on eBay, it cleaned up well but the plating is worn on the combs and some other parts of the razor. It shaved very well and I was quite pleased for a first shave with this razor, one tiny weeper that disappeared between passes. Not sure if I should just leave the razor as it is or get it re-plated, the 1940's Gillette Tech I have looks almost unused but this razor has obviously served someone very well for many a shave, I wonder how many shaves it takes to wear the plating down. Will give the razor a few more shaves before I decide, £40 odd re-plating a razor could be spent on a few other things and I kinda like the fact it is worn, I doubt I will wear it down much more.
I wouldn't bother going to the trouble and expence of a replate, the fact that it's got some wear is part of its charm and as you said the money could be spent on a few other things but it's your razor and your call :)

Evening chaps,

Prep: Hot shower and L' oreal charcoal face wash
Pre: King of shaves oil
Razor: R41 with ATT Kronos handle
Razor blade: Gillette 7 o'clock yellow
Brush: Semogue 830
Soap: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man
Post: Thayers witch hazel and Myrsol emulsion

As some of you may know I've been trying to improve my experience with the R41.
I tried a different blade, used a longer handle and a steeper shaving angle.
Did all these things improve my shave? No.
The end results were very good but getting there was pretty uncomfortable.

I'm going to give the R41 a miss for a while and stick with my ATT. I am going to order a Fatip piccolo as recommend by some of members here, thank you.

The Stirling soap work well and smelled nice.

Cheers fellas and goodnight.
Rob
