What made your day a crap one??

Tenth wedding anniversary today (no that's not what made it crap ;)) . Managed to break a champagne flute yesterday evening while prepping to cook an anniversary meal tonight, and sliced the knuckle on my left hand ring finger off down to the bone  Cue copious amounts of free-flowing claret, and all minor injuries units shut as it was past six pm. Left A&E after three hour wait and being told I was nowhere near the front of the queue and it would be "some time after 2am" before they'd get to me.
Back to minor injuries this morning with the finger still showing no sign of clotting to be stitched and bandaged. Bank holiday beard might be in order as being left-handed I'm not sure I trust myself with a razor currently

Firstly, Happy Anniversary!

Secondly, where's the spirit of the Welsh dragon? You've survived a broken champagne flute, I'm sure you'll cope with a right handed straight razor shave.

Thirdly, hope your hand heals soon. It won't be much fun having your razors, fountain pens and Pornhub taunting you.

Cheers Chris!
Going to move away from razors for a while and start rubbing this on my face instead. Sure it'll be fine.....

Happy anniversary to you and your wife.

Did you try rubbing your alum block on your knuckle! :)

Paul.

Thanks Paul. It's actually the same finger that I sliced with a blade while trying to fix my misaligned Futur copy a short while ago. And on that occasion I did stupidly apply a styptic stick to see what it would do. Well it made be jump six foot in the air and the neighbours four doors down were left in no doubt that I was a little perturbed

But did it work?

You REALLY don't want to know, but I'm glad there is an opportunity to post. Sometimes just having the chance to share is enough. And the responses I've had on this forum to various posts convince me that there are a lot of nice people out there, being honest but in a nice way.
I'm happy to be a member and......shite day but better for this forum
This is a good corner of the Internet

Last week I received an automated call from my cell provider stating that my phone would not be supported with the coming changeover to 5G service come Feb. 2022. Of course, I just bought it this past Feb. Regardless, the next day my phone would not call out. I could receive calls, I could send/receive texts and the Internet worked, but no outgoing calls. Tried to call the CS dept. and "died" on hold two times at 45 mins.!!:mad:
I then went to the local sales shop and those idiots had no clue and referred me to CS again.:mad::mad: They seemed to have some "back door" to a CS rep. who was obviously in some Third World Hellhole and whose English was impossible. I could only understand every third or fourth word.:mad::mad::mad: I then had the clerk in the store swap my SIM card into an old ph. that still works, but poorly.

Today, I called the actual maker of the cell whose rep, told me all that was needed was to register the IMEI with my service provider, so I returned to the store and they did that.......................................and it didn't work.:mad::mad::mad::mad: The rep. then got me on the line with a technical rep. (in the Philippines who spoke remarkable English and seemed sharp). "Seemed" being the operative word. He explained that yes, they had "flipped" a switch the other day and my phone, being unlocked, fell under the axe, but he said he could fix that AND offered me a free replacement ph. 5G compatible. I accepted the bait and he said they would ship it to me within the week and that he would send me a tracking # e-mail AND that when our call was over my current ph. would be unlocked for the interim waiting period.

Needless to say, no e-mail has arrived and the ph. is locked tighter than Dick's hatband!! I am madder than a mule with a mouthful of bumblebees!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Of course, it's impossible to get CS on the line now as they have conveniently changed their hold time to where after 30 mins. your called is discod.
