Vegan Shaving brush?

I've received an email asking where a vegan shaving brush could be found? I know there are synthetic brushes, any recommendations? And is there anything more natural, and where to find such an item? Any help will be gratefully received.

I'm not aware of any useful shaving brushes with fibers ('hairs') of vegetable origin. There are synthetic brushes, and these are usually classified as less than adequate, but if it is the only thing you want to use, it is at least better than lathering and applying with you bare hands.

Alternatively you may want to have a look at (horror) Charles Roberts' 'shave cloth'; although I think that this abomination only works with the insubstantial lather type that he apparently advocates...

Thanks Henk, I suspected as much. I also found this link <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/brushes/16204-synthetic-shaving-brush.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forum ... brush.html</a><!-- m -->

Pick up a live badger, rub it on the soap and then on your face... it can then scamper off and do what badgers do until you next need to shave.

Might be worth picking up a Styptic Pencil (about this size), some sutures and a couple of rocks of crack to take away the stinging whilst waiting for the ambulance to arrive :lol:

A handful of grass might work or the fluffy end of a celery stick?

Sorry Sharon but :lol: :lol: :lol:

I know the Body Shop brush has sometimes been classed as 'adequate' but not sure if it counts as vegan. :?

If something hasn't died for the end result then I'm not interested.

Death and sacrifice always make for best outcomes (e.g. freedom, forgiveness, rich creamy lather).

Anything less is a shortcut and a compromise.

would this count

I know nothing about veganism I'd probably get it all wrong and get a synthetic knot but mount it in something like Panda Bone :eek:
