SOTD w/c Sat 21th April - Fri 27th April ...

Saturday:

Hot towel prep
Gillette Aristocrat 66
Super Iridium
Simpson Chubby 2
Omega cream
Cold rinse
Harris Pink

Todays line up gave me a good shave with little irritation....well pleased.

Saturday:

2 days of stubble, a real rarity for me.
I was going to a kid's party with my wee girl and the slant is away on loan so I needed something capable of mowing down this jungle, I went with:

Prep: Long hot shower with Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet bath soap
Brush: EJ black badger
Soap: Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet hard soap
Helped out by: Touch of T+H cream
Razor: Muhle R41
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock yellow (1)
Afters: Thayers cucumber witch hazel
Penhaligons BB Eau de Toilette

Had to help the soap along with a touch of cream, it's not so good on its own to be honest.
Great result, ultra smooth as always with the R41, it leaves no hair standing. Smelling great and looking very clean cut, all the better to meet all those yummy mummies! ;-)

muhle r41
personna red
shavemac #25 silvertip
trumpers almond shaving cream
boots no7 post shave balm
prof blightys green ginger

hadnt used a personna red for quite a while, so thought id give it a spin in the r41. a great shave, theyre well suited. loving the profs green ginger too, smells wonderful.

This evening:

Prep: Hot shower
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (7)
Brush Neep #1145 onyx chess pawn 26mm extra silvertip badger
Soap: Cella
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Rosewood
Result: particularly good!

First lathering for this brush, and it's already a monster - outstanding knot. Allowed myself an extra neck pass and experimented a little with blade angles, and wound up with an unusually close neck :).

Shower
Proraso Pre shaving cream
Lord L6
Gillette 7' O'clock Green
Bigelow Shaving cream
Omega Pro 49 (Black Handle)
After Shave :
Cold towel
Witch Hazel
PEREJA Lemon Cologne
Proraso Balm

Prep L'Occitane Lavender Soap
Razor Maxotte High Grade 6/8
Brush Le Tuft Le Une Grande
Vito's Coconut & Almond Soft Soap
Alum & Witch Hazel
L'Occitane Baux Balm
Botanics Moisturiser SPF 15
L'Occitane Cedre L'Atlas Eau De Parfum,

Jamie.

Absolutely beautiful shave from this razor, one of two straights i own with full hollow ground blades, or singing blades as some people like to call them, and they are without doubt the sharpest razors i've ever owned for a traditional straight, the Feather AC - SS is another matter.

Today, a full Cool Water/GIT shave!

au79fs.jpg

Pre warm shower + Queen Charlotte Green Irish Tweed soap + Vie&Long 16910 "two bands edition" + Gillette Fat Tech canadian with Iridium Super + Cool Water lotion and balm

For me, GIT and Cool Water scents are very similar, so when a friend put this soap to sell I couldn't resist, hehe. It's the first time I try a Queen Charlotte soap and I found it very easy to lather with a good scent although in this first use I didn't fell it like a TOP soap (not bad anyway).

The Gillette Tech gave me a smooth, soft shave, I found this fat handle more comfortable to use than the ball-end one.

Cheers!

Dove soap, hot facecloth prep,Thiers issard le dandy/brush,Bluebeards revenges shaving cream, sandlewood skinfood to fin.
Spent more time practicing round my chin, a better result, but not 100% satisfied, however a BSS WTG, was achieved. :icon_neutral:

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep;

vintage Marshall Fields two band
'Webly'/Personna74 (NOS)
vintage Yardley SS
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Jacomo de Jacomo EdT (think patchouli/oakmoss)

Two days worth of whiskers to whack, so I popped a fresh 74 into the Webly and went to whackin them things. This is one hell of a fun blade to use when it comes to sharp, smooth, and forgiving.

Finally figured out this old soap after 12-15 uses. I spent extra time loading the brush and face lathered instead of using the bowl. Bingo! Heh, I kept hearing what great stuff this was, and that turned out true. Only user error that kept me from enjoying it this much in the past.

BBS results,

Martin

Prep: hot shower
Brush: Simpson, Chubby 2
Razor: Iwisaki
Soap: Nannys French Lavender
AS: Lavanada
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D

Very nice razor! Much easier to shave with than my Tosuke (nasty point), but I'm by no means an expert on traditional Kamisoris, by far.
